Nice visual and choice of boutiques but watch your step, dog poops and smells are prevalent.
I visited a couple places and found a big magazine shop.

This is one of the nicest off the beaten path neighborhoods in the whole city. What a great mix of restaurants, bakeries cafés, and small shops. Lots to do a great five and then the warmer months. Tons of places to eat outside. Great people watching nice variety, and most of all not touristy.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. They were able to explain to me how to sharpen and wax my board with great detail, and had all the available equipment to get the job done. I really like this shop because they seem to carry only superior quality & high end products. When I'm out on the mountain, I want my gear to be quality. Little ski/snowboard gem in Montreal.

Today I had a delicious buckwheat crepe with egg and turkey; however, I was charged $2.85 for a one ounce container of maple syrup because it was considered an extra to the meal. The waitress initially told me the cost was $1.99, then apologized when the bill listed $2.85 but did not offer to reimburse me. I feel the $2.85 is an overly excessive charge given that the maple syrup is home grown! Shame on you Juliette & Chocolat for taking advantage of the client!!

You want to eat Ethiopian or French food? You need fancy pastries? You want to shop for clothes that are out of the ordinary? Then Monkland street is the place to go! Its easy access and relative proximity to downtown make it a place of choice for any tourist. It is pedestrian friendly, and the large sidewalks make it easy for parents who are pushing a crib. A definite go-to (I also lived there for a few years)

We ate at several restaurants on Monkland Ave. while in Montreal. All were good and reasonable in price

Monkland (especially near Decarie and Girouard) is like a village! Beautiful streets, open air dining, lovely stores and bakeries. So delightful! A true taste of Montreal!

If you don't know Paul then good luck getting service. Too bad since they look like they might know the technical side of ski boots well. Customer service if they don't know you, however? - Not so much.
