We have stayed there twice now this summer. First time was great because they had just opened up and it wasn’t crowded. But last weekend was packed! Something came up and we needed to cancel our Sunday night stay so I contacted Roger by phone message and email on Friday about the cancellation because I could not see how to do it online. No response so I wrote again on Saturday. Still no response.

Nice and clean camping sites. Restrooms at campground and near swimming area. Great for kayaking, fishing and get togethers.

During my recent visit with my brother and sister-in-law, we decided to go fishing and kayaking at Lake Salacoa (Saturday, August 11, 2018). My nieces and nephew were also with us. We packed snacks and sodas, and took with us my brother and SIL’s kayaks. Checking in, and renting an extra kayak (for myself), was a breeze and very reasonably priced!!! The areas were well-kept, clean, and perfect for our needs. The restrooms were super clean too! The personnel were ALL so very friendly which, to me, unfortunately is not so common these days. My SIL rented a paddle-boat to use for herself and the kids, while I used her kayak to follow along with them around the pristine lake. My brother fished from his kayak and had an enjoyable time doing so! We didn’t go down to the campsites but could see tents from the lake and, from what I saw, the areas looked simply beautiful! If I were camping, this place looked like the perfect spot! Lots of trees to shade the areas and just steps from the water’s edge so as to enjoy the beauty of the lake. Although my family members already met and know the lake’s manager, he and his gorgeous girlfriend at the lake and I had the awesome pleasure of meeting and talking with them too...such a lovely, sweet couple! The manager, Roger, inquired as to whether we had everything we needed and whether we thought there was room for improvement in any area but, of course, we all were very pleased with EVERYTHING! I can’t express enough how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience at Lake Salacoa! It was my first visit to the lake AND my first kayaking experience. I had so much fun, my brother and SIL took me back the next day. I think it probably goes without saying but I must say we had a blast that day as well. The kids had returned home to their parents in middle Georgia and it was just we three adults this time. My SIL (Melissa), myself, and Valerie (Roger’s beautiful, sweet girlfriend) enjoyed kayaking around the lake and soaking up the sun. Lifeguards on duty...several people were enjoying the beach, umbrellas, sun & sand! I am definitely looking forward to my next trip to Lake Salacoa! A great big THANK YOU to my brother and SIL for allowing me the opportunity to visit Lake Salacoa!!!

Very nice campground. Worth driving the extra distance from Rt 75 to get there, and $18/night is almost free. Nice views of the creek, along with a nature trail. Very hilly, but sites are level and paved.

We called this park to make reservations the day before our planned arrival. We were directed to visit the website and reserve a spot online. The online reservation process was cumbersome, but we successfully reserved a spot - Site 6.
Upon arrival a sign read "if you have a reservation, continue to your site"... no checking in at a office. Unfortunately, site 6 was occupied.
We parked and went to figure out the situation at the camp host site. The hosts were busy watching a baseball game and made us feel as though we were interrupting them. The final verdict was "just park in that open site".
The park was swamped with people, and there was - luckily for us - only one site open.
The bathrooms were too small for the park at full capacity. And, lots of rednecks tearing the bathroom up! It was disgusting.

We paid 15 .00 to fish and was there for 3 hours never got a bite. No boats or kyacks for rent cause most had holes in them. Asked if it had been restocked this year and the 2 men working didn't know. Never saw not one person with a fish. I asked if anyone had caught any fish today and they both replied no. Why go fishing if there's no fish. Many ppl complained about not having boats but has a sign saying they rented them. Had to walk for ever cause there were no bathrooms close by. Beach wasent open and we saw a snake so not sure if I would of even let my kids go. Not fair we had to pay while other were told not to worry about it. Wasted 15.00 and 3 hours on Mother Day ..if they arnt going to stock it then why have it open. Very up setting for my kids....has been years since we have been here and I doubt we will be back. Don't advertise what you don't have. Also ppl were wanting the management ppl to tell they why boats and kyacks had holes in them when they would get out 9n the water then have to come right back. The 2 guys didn't have a problem taking money but had no reasons as to why on any on my questions.....

This is a very well-kept, clean, quiet and affordable campground. Not too far out if you need to pick something that you forgot..The grounds are well-kept and easy to walk around. The bathhouse is clean and has good water pressure; the only thing they need to do to improve it is put some kind of ventilation in--cause in the hot Georgia summers it is almost un-bearable to go in--take a shower EARLY in the mornings or else you won't feel you've had one. The beach area for swimming is nice with the only drawback being they don't sell concessions and won't let you bring any in. They have playgrounds for kids and for $3 you can fish the small lake. All in all a great place for a getaway.

Fairly small yet family personal. Its got everything you need to have for a family get away. We lke the nearby large lake but saw this on the way and decided to go. Have fishing, small boat rentals and playground as well as swimming and picnic facilities. There is a separate camping area and the facilities are very well kept and secure. I didnt mind the cost of $3 to fish and enjoyed this very much.
