What a stunning little place. Its well worth a visit. Unlike previous reviewers it was open. The main event is the waterfall that you can see from the road. It is nice that you can climb the steps to see where the water is coming from. The views from the top were amazing. This isn't an all day event, but if you've got a spare hour then I would say it's well worth a visit. There is also a cafe and a couple of lovely bars across the road.

After travelling over 1.30 hours on public transport {as i don't drive} to visit this spot with my 4 children aged 15, 12, 10 & 3 years old , baring in mind i had checked the website which stated they were open 24 hours a day, we arrived after a 1 hour train ride and a 35 minute bus ride only to see the place was shut and only a piece of paper attached to the gate saying " sorry were closed until further notice" the disappointment on my children's faces?
i went into the cafe which was still open??? and asked why the website hadn't been updated only to come face to face with a rude young girl with lip fillers on her phone who said " the waterfalls nowt to do with me i just work in the cafe its been shut for ages since we got flooded,
we were looking forward to spending a good day out as a family and getting to enjoy this { what I've been told is wonderful place?}
However i suggest UPDATING your website to prevent further disappointment to other family's making journeys to visit.
this is not professional by any means and is an insult on tourists and others planning a day to spend here

Decided to visit as we were staying in the area, 2 young kids and 2 adults. We googled the waterfall and on Google it states open, however, on arrival the access to the waterfall was closed until further notice and also the little village café shop. Was looking forward to a cup of tea and relaxing by the waterfall, hadn't been before. However, managed to get a video from the road and free parking allowed us to park up for 5 minutes. I'm sure it is beautiful in the summer, just a shame the online details are not accurate as loads of other tourists were also arriving like we were. I can't give a bad review, but would be good to have updated information as we wouldn't of made the journey.

Stayed in Prestatyn so paid a visit to the waterfalls as was only 5 minutes away by car. Unfortunately the gates were locked as it was quite muddy but there is a walk way across the top if you wanted a walk. We just wanted a photo opportunity which we got. There is a lovely little cafe serving ice cream & sandwiches too serving we had a spot of lunch before leaving.

Personally I was a little disappointed, however we didn't do the walk, we just popped in to see the Falls.
There is a small free car park, which was rather packed. Toilets were locked.

Lovely circular walk around the waterfalls. Steep route for this who may be unsteady underfoot
We went on a beautifully warm day which added to our enjoyment.
This would be a good place for a family bbq

Bang slap in the middle of the village. Beautiful waterfall, free parking. Bang smack in the middle of the village and easily accessible for anyone.

It’s a bit disappointing. It’s not something that you can make a day of so you need to have something else planned as well. You walk up to the top and follow the trail back downtown the road. Car park very small not sure where else you could park as road is busy.
Waterfall itself is is lovely but it’s not a day out just a quick stop.

Saw this on the map and took a visit. Spectacular waterfall -very easy access.
Park by the toilets and entrance is free. Otherwise via cafe (no relation to falls) and there is a 50p honesty box. Information board in waterfalls garden by picnic benches.

The waterfall is about 300 yards from the road and should be visible from the road although it is better to see it close up. It can’t actually be closed. I would drive over to have a look but we are on holiday for the next two weeks. Let me know if you plan to visit after this and I will let you know if the crisis has affected access.
Is the path suitable for people with disabilities?

I am wheelchair dependent, so I can say with some authority that the bottom of the falls is easily accessible, but there is a very steep and long flight of steps to the top of the falls which is inaccessible. Still quite a spectacle, especially at this time of year with all the rain.

hiya is it pram friendly ????

Yes you may take a pram and still be able to see the waterfall, however if you wanted to go up and see the river and caves then that is not possible due to a lot of steps.

There’s a box in the wall at the entrance where you post your 50p per person fee.Nobody checks if you have paid, however this place was so lovely and we spent such a great afternoon with our kids exploring here, you certainly don’t begrudge paying it.

Are you able to visit this in the evening or is it closed after 6pm

If the gate is locked then go to the side of the ice cream shop and follow down the side to what looks like your going into someone's garden bug it's actually a footpath.
Carry on to the top past a few bungalows turn right and you'll be at the top of the falls where there are caves and you'll know you are in the right place by the smell of wild garlic.
Cross the path which floods then into the woods on the other side.
When you reach the country road go down hill and you'll come to an excellent pub called the New Inn which is about 200yds from the falls entrance.
Basically you'll do a loop and it's free.

Should not be a problem. I have seen lots of dogs being walked there and in the woods on top.
