Unlike most major natural history museums, this one is very focused on the life that inhabits this part of the country. That said, everything is exceptionally well presented and you actually get to go through altitude driven climatological zones as you ascend or descend the ramp that forms much of the path through the exilhibits. Even with the narrow focus, this is a five star visit because of the beauty and perfection of how it is presented.

Lots of flora, fauna and historic exhibits, which are very well laid out in an excellent facility. Highly recommended.

One can see and hear the sounds of animals that you could see around Cody or in Yellowstone Park. Families especially would love this walk. The museum even has a corner which shows paleontologist digging for dinosaurs. There have been several digs near Shell, Wyoming. If you drive toward Shell, do stop in and see the tracks. They are 5 miles off of the main road. You can even walk where they walked!

There was so much to see and read and we were running out of time. The displays were wonderful with all the different animals. You could probably spend most of the day in just this one museum.

There are better natural history museums but this one has a good representation of discovered history in the region. It's worth your time

Yields lots of information about the area, its native wildlife and some more information of how they interact.

This museum is arranged in a spiral. The visitor begins at the Alpine elevation and gradually finds himself at the Plains/Basins level. Animals are presented in their habitats. The sound of birds and other animals in the background really adds to the experience.

Opinions will differ, but we think this is the best and most informative part of the Cody Museum. It actually covers several floors that are set up by a spiral walkway.

t to get a 2 day ticket since this is a very large museum.
They have a large animals of Wyoming section, A huge fire arms section,
a beautiful native American section and a section all regarding Buffalo Bill Cody, and a very nice art gallery.
Well worth checking out when in Cody, Wyoming.
