Desiree of “Go Kigali Tours” was an excellent guide. We definitely got a glimpse of kigali and enjoyed the various activities, especially the food (coffee, milk bar, and the samosas). The street art was amazing, and the genocide memorial was definitely an eye opener.

My father and I took this tour on 21 Jan 2023 and it was PHENOMENAL. Our guide, Desiree, displayed a true love for not only her country, but also her job. She was full of life, friendly and interacted with the locals, helping make the tour feel less "tourist" and more with the culture. Each spot we visited was wonderful and there was not a boring second. Our lunch was incredible, delicious and doesn't even begin to describe it, I would absolutely revisit the restaurant again. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kigali who would like to get a broad view of the city.

Desiree’ with Go Kigali is one of the best tour guides ever! We travel a lot and she did an excellent job of making our tour interesting, funny, and very informative. Every time our group asked a question (and we asked a lot) she was able to instantly answer it and gave a lot of background with her answer. Go Kigali has an office in the Marriott hotel too which makes them an easy choice when staying in Kigali. Desiree even works there too and was very informative when we were trying to decided which tours to do. If you’re visiting Kigali definitely book with Go Kigali and ask for Desiree.

I went with my brother and elderly parents (so quite a diverse crowd with varying interests) and we each had a really fun experience. Our guide Eric also made some suggestions to make our trip even more interesting, he also took lovely pictures of us. I 100% recommend as it was one of the highlights of our entire trip.

The Kigali city tour was really great. Glad I went on this trip. I learned so much about Kigali, Rwanda - the culture, the people and the history. There was also plenty of snacks on the trip and lunch was good- got to taste some local foods. I had one of the best lattes at Caffee stop that was part of the trip. The visit to the Genocide Memorial was heavily emotional..still processing it all.

The Kigali city tour was just great. We saw so many things! Graffiti, milk bar, market, Mount Kigali and much more. We tasted typical lunch, best coffee and samosa. Our tour guide Desiree was perfect, we learned so many information about Rwanda and about life of Rwandan people. No question was left unanswered. You just need to take this tour!

I booked the full day city tour and can’t say how terrific the experience was. My guide Alex reviewed the day before we left the Marriott, so there were no surprises. I had an opportunity to see and appreciate things I would most certainly have missed. So many highlights of the tour, but the East African lunch served family style was definitely one of them.
Alex the guide and the driver were both gracious hosts that make tour participants feel welcome.
Tip: don’t skip for Genocide Museum at the end. It is not an enjoyable stop, but it’s an important stop and visit.

Wonderful day trip. Able to visit and take part in the "life" of Kigali. Visiting many landmarks and sampling many different foods. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Our final stop on the trip was so emotional...the genocide museum. Amazing and thoughtful.

My colleagues and I had an amazing time on our Go Kigali Tour of the Akagera National Park in Rwanda. Our guide, Muzamiru Kiyaga, picked us up at the Marriott in Kigali at 5AM. He already had a breakfast of yogurt, croissants and muffins, and hard boiled eggs packed for us as well as a lunch with a delicious chicken sandwich, chips, and fruit, plus plenty of water and other drinks. On the 2 hour drive to the park, we stopped by a great cafe and shop where we got a much appreciated caffeine boost. Muzamiru made sure we were well prepared with all the paperwork we needed to enter the park. The park itself was awe inspiring and the search for animals was exhilarating. We were blessed to have Muzamiru's vast knowledge of the animals to help us better understand what we were seeing. We drove from the marshlands to the heights of the mountains, where we stopped for a beautiful scenic lunch. After about 9 hours of exploring the park and seeing many species of animals, birds, and flora and fauna, we headed back to the hotel. It was a fantastic memory well worth the cost!

Hi Vicki, we're so glad to hear you enjoyed your trip to Akagera with Muzamiru - we think he's great too! It's such an early start but worth it for a chance to see the Big 5 and immerse yourself in the abundance of wildlife so close to Kigali. I have spent three days with go further / go Kigali discovering the landscapes, history and secrets of Rwanda ! It was a marvellous journey, well organised et perfectly conducted by my guide Eric and our driver. I would highly recommend the team ! My trip was tailor made , à real success !

Hi there -- I was just in Kigali in December and here are a few things I'd recommend with kids:
-The Go Kigali City Tour (maybe opt for the half-day tour with kids). It was a great way to see the city. We went to a local market and got to taste delicious fruit, went to a milk bar, took a boat ride...
-There are great restaurants and coffee shops -- all kid friendly, affordable and good spots to rest if you just need some downtime. Some of my favorites were Inzora Rooftop Cafe and Question Coffee
-Swim at the Hotel Des Mille Collines pool

Hey, no the Go Kigali tour does not include the tickets though they drop you at the memorial for a DIY tour. Entry is free anyway (donation optional), but there is a fee for the Remembrance & Learning guided tours, clicking pics inside and audio guides.
