Customer friendly bar with a great range of gins (my tipple) wide range 9f beers including Heverlee ( my beer ) friendly staff and customer West End of Kirkcaldy. Great atmosphere with.a wide range at there bar

Have tried this pub a few times now & the experience has been mostly the same. Staff very friendly & welcoming, clientele a mixed bag, everyone seems to know each other & if you're not a regular you stick out, to the extent some punters (mainly males) stare at you with a bemused look, as if its a novelty a newbie has come in their bar for a drink! Won't be back in a hurry, shame as the pub itself is nice & cosy, & the staff are lovely.

I have been going to the penny off and on since 1975 now sadly I will never set foot in the place again. Last night after the Scotland v Faroes I watched in the Exchequer. After the game, I decided to go along to the Penny as they didn't have the game on and I always prefer to spend my money on our local pubs rather than the chain pubs. I got in just before the last orders bell rang along with a few others who were much younger than myself.
As I was just finishing my drink off these "others" ordered up another round, so I thought fair enough I would do the same considering I was finished with an empty glass and they still had a fair bit to go. So I asked, but only to be refused I told Christina "who said that was her name" I didn't think she was being very fair, but her mind was made up. I left and I was really upset and angry. I ended up back to the exchequer drinking till midnight.
We are all heading for hard and difficult times and especially pubs will be fighting for survival, if you carry on like this I don't see the penny being around for very long.

Good pub with friendly staff. They have 35ml measures at decent prices. Plenty of sports on the TV together with live entertainment on Sundays.

Charity night.
Caught Number One Son play here on a charity gig.
Staff were great and got a coke at £1.25 and crisp for £1 so fairly reasonable. Small pub but with a friendly atmosphere. Will check out the gig guide for upcoming appearances as sure to be back soon.

This is a place for locals who all seem to know each other. Seems like it's okay to vape inside. If you're not a smoker stay away.

I visited with friends for a couple of drinks, and had a great time speaking with the staff. However, the pub is a bit worn and there were a few "interesting" characters frequenting the establishment. Definitely better pubs to visit in Kirkcaldy town centre.

We both have visited this very clean, cosy, and comfortable establishment a few times when in the area, the bar staff always appear attentive and pleasant, the walls of the lounge are covered in some interesting memorabilia.

Went for a drink and found the bar staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Really good service. However we were subjected to a customer puffing on an electronic cigarette and he became quite angry when asked politely to refrain from using it. This caused him to deliberately use it more. Manageress was asked if he was allowed to smoke it in the premises and we were told there was no law against it. We left and wont be back
