Definitely an ideal gift experience for all ages. The Capybaras were really friendly and happy to engage with plenty of food on offer. The staff were all really friendly and helpful too. We will definitely visit again.

We've been to Wild Discovery a few times before and always found it to be a great small zoo where the animals are clearly well cared-for and admission prices are extremely reasonable. This particular visit in January was to allow my daughter and my sister to both enjoy a capybara feeding experience. The experience began promptly and was excellent throughout - the keeper was friendly and welcoming but also did a great job of making the session highly educational, just dropping small but interesting facts about capybaras consistently throughout the 30 minute session so it was never overwhelming, and asking as many questions as they answered too to keep it engaging. The experience is not cheap but it also feels very reasonably priced for the quality of the experience, so we definitely feel like we got our money's worth especially as the two participants were given zoo entry as part of the fee, so we only needed to pay extra for the rest of our party to enter the zoo. Would highly recommend anyone considering an interactive experience at Wild Discovery to do it, because both my daughter and my sister are talking about how much they enjoyed it several days after and it'll remain a great memory for them. I think the best recommendation for an experience like this is that we're looking at when we can do it again.

Emily was amazing. She really captivated the experience for us just as much as the capy’s did. It’s been my son’s dream to see one as close up as possible and it was so fun, relaxed and so interesting. Larry and moe definitely captured our hearts. Very well looked after and very happy animals. We highly recommend this experience.

We had a wonderful Capybara Encounter on Sunday, a very therapeutic and educational session with Larry & Mo and a brilliant Christmas present for the kids. Mark was brilliant, very friendly and informative and we learned a lot about these fabulously laid back creatures. We would 100% recommend the experience and will definitely be back to visit again!

Visited for a Capybara Experience for my wife. The zoo is very small but the free flying bat house is worth a visit.
Capybara encounter was a Christmas present for my wife, and she thoroughly enjoyed it - looking at Mo's face (Capybara) he also loved it.

Booked a zookeeper for the day experience for my 11 year old and it was great. Joseph who looked after him was amazing. Knowledgeable, patient and my son loved the experience. They saw so many animals up close and went in with the Capybaras twice because they was my son's favourite. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time, the staff are super I recommend this to anyone young or old for a day out, if I had a complaint it would be the lack of a little cafe

My friend bought the capybara experience for 2 for my bday and it did not disappoint. We had so much time to stroke the cappy’s and we enjoyed hearing all about them and there quirky little ways. The rest of the zoo was brilliant to with animals that we had both never seen before! 10/10 would recommend. The guy who did our talk was really friendly and informative and took photos for us too.

My wife and I visited Wild Discovery for the first time to celebrate her birthday. We booked the capybara experience.
The experience itself was well worth it. The two capybaras (Larry and Moe) came right up for food and scritches, even sitting right by our feet for the duration of the experience. Our guide, Joseph, was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of facts about the species as well as Larry and Moe. If you think you'd enjoy getting close enough to cuddle a capybara, I'd definitely recommend this.
We also spent quite a lot of time chatting with a keeper called Gary who did the bird talk. He took lots of time to talk just to us about the birds and other animals he works with and really went out of his way to make it an enjoyable and interesting visit.
The lady at reception was also very helpful and friendly as we arrived, and when we bought some reindeer feed.
The bat room is also worth a visit if you want to get very close to them, they literally fly right past your face and you can get a very close look at the bats.
It's not a huge zoo but there is a lot of variety in animals there and plenty of affordable feeding experiences and talks to keep you busy for the day. We didn't even mind it raining buckets in the afternoon. Also there are lots of options for food etc. that you can nip out to within Ribby Hall Village.
We'll be back to meet more of the animals!

We went for a Sloth experience which was really good. The place is quite small but quite a bit to see nonetheless. Staff is friendly. We enjoyed the talks, the bats flying around, the bintarungs, otters and artic fox. Very pleasant 2-3hours really. Would recommend .
