Sull'Isola Madre l'attrazione principale sono i Giardini botanici, ma anche il Palazzo è molto bello e molto ben tenuto, abbastanza diverso da quello dell'Isola Bella.
Una terrazza offre uno stupendo affaccio sui giardini.
Al termine della visita ai giardini e al palazzo si scende di un livello e, accanto una bellissima fontana, ci si può rilassare e rinfrescare in un ottimo bar con tavolini all'aperto in ombra o semiombreggiati.

Palace is impressive but the exhibits are not well curated. If nothing else there's too many of them in too small a space. Not sure the entry fee was justified.

Als je op het eiland bent moet je zeker dit paleis en zijn tuinen bezoeken.
Alles in de villa is authentiek zoals het vroeger was.
Het toont de grandeur van weleer en hoe de rijken vroeger leefden.
Prachtige tuinen, en alles kraaknet.
Nergens een vuiltje te vinden.

Sia la villa che il giardino, veramente interessanti e molto ben curati guide molto preparate,prezzi onesti e consiglio il biglietto combinato con le altre isole molto più convenienti!! (No drone zone)

Fee is horrific and nothing else to see on the island but the palazzo. Totally not worth it and a waste of money

Being European we are spoiled with beautiful culture and historic castles in particular, so the bar was set relatively high when venturing out on the lake Maggiore to visit the most majestic castle on one of the 3 islands. It was a fantastic experience and I particularly enjoyed the detailed decorations in the lower part of the castle, making me feel like I was visiting the underwater kingdom of Neptune

Die komplette Inseltour war schon beeindruckend, aber solch ein Garten, hätte jeder gerne zuhause...inkl. 2-3 Gärtner 😜👍😇😎

I am not a huge fan of touring palaces as it seems you won't remember them anyway. This palace was an exception for me. I really enjoyed seeing all the elaborately decorated rooms and learning the history of the palace. The grotto level is quite unique and worth seeing.
The gardens are beautiful and it's a treat to see the white peacocks wandering about. Lots of beautiful views all around the island.
If you don't like art and history, then you may not enjoy it as much as I did. It is a fair amount of walking to do this tour.

where exactly is the Palace?> i cant find the details only ferry trips. please can you give me a link with prices, times of opening etc please? Many thanks

Exactly is in Lake Maggiore. You would go to Stressa, which is a lovely typical small Italian town. Along the center of the town, you would see the marina and there are a lot of parking spaces. You would take a 10 minute boat ride to "Isola Bella" €15 euros round trip. I believe it was €17 or €18 for visiting the palace and gardens. We did not need reservations for either the boat ride or to visit the palace.
Take note that there are 3 islands. They would ask you if you want to go to the 3 islands and if you have time it may be nice. We opted to only go to Isola Bella and take our time there. There are a few cute restaurants in the island.
