Do NOT TRUST this man. He scammed us over with our deposit, and I can only imagine the lies he would come up with to scam us out of more money had we taken the jet skiis out. Record your conversations with him- he is a scam artist. We were half an hour late to the 48 hour cancellation window- we tried to call the night before but no one answered the phone because of their hours. We called half an hour after they opened in the morning. It was one of the busiest weekends of the year. We are from out of town we realized that the lake was actually very far from where we were staying. We called and explained the situation, he was rude at first then told us to not worry about it that he would find someone else to take the jet skiis that day, and he would not charge the deposit. We were relieved and booked close to where we were staying, and now it turns out that he DID charge us for the deposit. After calling him to ask about the deposit charge, he basically told us to “f off” and told us good luck in disputing the charge. Completely scammed, had we known he was going to take the deposit we would have just sucked it up and driven there to get them instead of paying for the jet ski rental closer to us. Terrible human, I would never suggest or support someone that runs a business like this. I feel sick that I have to leave one star to write this review, but I hope it helps someone else’s wallet down the line.

This was the worst rental experience in my life. It doesn’t matter what time you call them, they never answer the phone When you try to email them, it's was all about excuses and they will try to call you back. Not a good experience. Do not rent from them. There are better companies out there. I think they need new management.

We recently rented a canoe and were extremely impressed with the quality and service they provided. The canoe was practically brand new and exactly as described on the website. We opted for the delivery and pick up to our campsite, and the service was bang on and very well priced.

We have rented from many different companies and this was by far our best experience.

Thank you very much to Gabby and the crew!

We rented 2 paddleboards from them. They last minute called and said they were charging $1000 security deposit on the rental (2x $500). Okay. So we had the boards, all was fine, then they pick them up. They email to say one of the boards was badly damaged and send a pic - easily fixed fin box repair. No, they claim the damage is so bad they cannot fix it and the board is garbage, so they are keeping BOTH deposits and we should be happy they aren't charging us more for the board??? Then, we ask to take the board and pick it up, and they were very rude. Once we have it, we take it to a SUP repair place and... what do you know... the damage is easily fixed and only costs $200. Plus, he said there is internal damage and water that shows the board was already weakened from way before we rented it, meaning its standard damage. These guys are scammers. They'd have insurance to cover regular board replacement/wear and tear, so they just conned us out of an additional $1000 for an old board they were likely going to replace anyways. STAY AWAY.

Had made a booking two months prior for a boat rental. KA called the evening before saying they had to cancel our booking due to damage to the boat. As I had planned the rental far in advance for a special occasion, I asked what customer service they could offer me. They said they would refund my booking. When I explained this was not good customer service, they replied three more times that what they were doing for me was giving me a refund. When I explained that they could offer me a cancellation priority for their next booking, they repeated that they could not do that and that they would offer me a refund. No expression of care or customer service whatsoever. Why should the customer who is not at fault have their plans ruined with no consideration or offering? On to the next, I guess - as indicated when the staff said they were full up to September. First rental we had was also a bust. They suggested we use their marina for gas. When we did, the attendant gouged us 5x the cost of our fill up! What a joke. No stars, no recommendation. No accountability.

Great staff to deal with. Newer machines. Had an excellent time. Note: if you aren't trailering your rental elsewhere, you need a parking pass, and park near the orange roofed building.

This is by far the worst experience I’ve had with a company. Don’t recommend it at all!

We were staying at a lake house and decided to have some nice experience by renting 2 sea-doos for 2 entire days.

To begin with, the sea-doos arrived at the end of the morning. Then when we first tried to use it, the sea-doos ended up full of weeds. We were not advised about those problems and we called the company to help us with this situation. The same person went back to our place and helped us, cleaning and giving advice. Less than 1 hour after it, the same problem happened and we decided to cancel everything.

We couldn’t even leave de dock area!

After lunch they returned and got the machines back. At that time we were told over the phone that we were gonna receive a refund for the second day.

Well, it DID NOT HAPPEN!

On another attempt to contact the manager, we were told that they not only won’t give a refund but they also charged us for the sea-doos maintenance since it was apparently full of weeds.

It’s upsetting to have this situation and we really wanted to have a great time by actually using those sea-doos. So a few days after all of this happened, we went back to their place and rented it for a day. At least this time we could have some fun.

By the end of the day we tried to contact the manager again and the person in the office informed us he was not available and that he was gonna contact us to talk about the refund.

Well, it DID NOT HAPPEN again!

We ended up paying for 2 sea-doos for 3 entire days + maintenance and using them only 1 time!

The lack of care they have with a client surprised me the most.

It’s ABSURD the way they treated us and I DO NOT recommend this place at all!

If you want to have a great experience DON’T RENT ANYTHING FROM THEM. It isn’t worth it.

100% DISAPPOINTED with this “company”

A few days ago my brother and I rented a couple of GTI Sea Doos for the weekend and we ended up getting ripped off.

The reason being, to start with, they were delivered late on the first day and once they did arrive, after just one minute (or less) of use the sea doos would start beeping because of weeds in the lake.

We then called Kawartha Rentals reporting the problem. Some time after that, the same guy (Luke) who delivered them to us came to clean them up and left. But the problem happened again the moment we decided to give it another try.

So we called Kawartha Rentals again saying that unfortunately the sea doos wouldn't run at our location and that they should come and pick them back up. At that time over the phone we were informed that we WOULD get a refund, but for for the second day only since it was already after noon. That sounded reasonable so we agreed and they took the jet skis back just a few hours after delivering them to us.

We then decided to put in another reservation with them again for 1 full day later that week, but this time departing directly from their location at the lake.

The thing is, the following day we got an email informing that we would NOT get a refund at all and also got charged an extra $75 service fee.

Well, we were surprised they did that after both Luke and Jay (owner) informed us they WOULD indeed refund us for the second day since we have returned the sea doos just a few hours after getting them and seeing that we even booked an additional day later that week. So we then tried sending another email asking for some clarification but never got a reply back.

A few days after we got a chance to talk in person with the girls at front desk, and they told us they would definitely tell Jay and that he would get back to us briefly. It never happened.

Bottom line: They kept all our money and showed a tremendous lack of costumer service. The whole thing left us with almost $900 loss each after that.

I would definitely NOT recommend them!

The worst! They told us over the phone that we would get a refund for one of the days and instead they charged us an additional fee on top of the original full price!

We rented sea doos and were supposed to have them for two full days, though they had to take them back after just a few hours after a late delivery. It should have been obvious to them that we would not be able to drive the sea doos at the lake next to the cabin we rented. However, they didn’t say anything and instead left us with sea doos that kept having issues.

After telling us we would get a refund for the second day, we even booked an additional day later that week in a different location.

HOWEVER, when it was too late to cancel the additional day, they told us they would NOT do a refund and would instead charge us EXTRA on top of the full price!

That is completely unacceptable, especially after telling us over the phone that we would get a refund.

Do not rent from these people!

We rented 2 sea doos for a full weekend at our cottage rental and got ripped off without even being able to ride them.

Details:
The sea doos were late to deliver on saturday morning but they arrived.

Turns out the lake in front of our cottage rental had a lot of weeds in the water (we had no idea) so we were not able to ride them at all. They would beep with an error after just one minute because of weeds.

Just a couple of hours after being delivered (and not being able to ride at all) I called Kawartha Rentals saying that unfortunately the sea doos wouldn't run at our location and that they should come and pick them back up. Luke (the delivery guy) saw everything and can testify.

What a bummer, we had the weekend planned out.

They guy on the phone (I assume it was Jay, the owner) told me they couldn't refund me for first day but they would refund me for the second day. Luke came back to pick up the sea doos, saw the situation, told us he was sorry we couldnt ride at our location and said we should call Jay for a refund.

We returned the sea doos just a few hours after receiving them without being able to ride at all.

We really wanted to ride them so I went ahead and booked the 2 sea doos for an additional day later that week launching at their location on the lake.

Then, the next day, for my surprise, I got an email saying I would not only NOT get any refund but also that they had deducted an additional $75 service fee. Mind you that they require an enormous $2.000,00 dollars deposit PER sea doo when you rent them out.

I couldn't believe they did that after both Luke and Jay (owner) told me they would refund us for the second day since we have returned the machines just a few hours after getting them delivered and seeing that we even booked an additional day later that week.

Bottom line: We were charged the FULL 2 days rental (even though we didnt have the machines at our place for 1.5 days), charged an additional $75 dollars and charged in full for our additional day booked.

I emailed them again to check it all wasnt just a big misunderstanding and I never got a reply back. I talked in person to the girls at front desk, they were nice and empathetic and told me they would definitely tell Jay and that he would contact me back. It never happened.
They kept all the money and showed a tremendous lack of costumer service. I am at an almost $900 loss after this. Weekend nightmare.

I would NOT recommend them just based on lack of integrity and honesty.
