I had so much fun! Adara is incredibly warm, engaging and knowledgable and generous with her time and patience. I learnt so much and had a great time doing so. This is a great activity for both locals and tourists of all ages!

It was so excited to see all the plants that we can eat that are growing wild in the city! It was so much fun and I learnt so much. Adara is so knowledgeable and explains things well. (This was my first time foraging / learning about this stuff and Adara got me hooked.

What a fun, educational and worthwhile tour! I learned so much about the edible nature that surrounds us in an urban setting. Adara is knowledgeable, friendly and patient! Thank you for a great tour!

Who would have thought that right off a bus terminal and the light rail, there were so many edible plants. Adara was excellent. She explained and explained, was very patient with us and our questions and was an amazing guide. This was my first foraging tour and I plan on doing more now that Adara has introduced me to looking for what’s in front of me.

My 12-year old girl, 10-year old boy and I went on a tour in the first week of October. It was a trip that piqued my curiosity in foraging and I subsequently found several species of plants that Adara showed us, back in Rehovot, and was able to pick, eat and grow them. Highly recommended for families who like being outdoors and learning new things.

Learning about plants that I walk by every day. Adara engaged our group which ranged in age from 5 to 60+. We were in the Ramot Forest and on the street adjacent to it. In reality so much information with very little walking which meant it was great for old and young alike. Adara has a friendly conversational style and welcomed questions along the way. We learned about edible and non edible plants as well as ones that were truly poisonous. Just remember to bring water, comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen. We were out for two hours which was just the right amount of time. Adara provided a fun-filled educational afternoon. Highly recommended!

I've been wanting to try one of Adara's foraging classes for a long time, and finally it worked out! I went with my two youngest kids, ages 5 and 2. It was a two hour foraging class at the edge of the Ramot forest. The class was super fun and it was so cool to see what edible plants are growing right on your neighborhood next to your sidewalk. She did not charge for the kids (not sure from what age she starts charging) because generally, unless it's a class specifically geared towards kids, they generally aren't so engaged in the lesson. In this case, however, my kids were totally into it (my 5yo even asked if we could go foraging again today, four days later, which we did, and she helped point out some of the plants that Adara had showed us).
Adara was also very professional, emphasizing that you shouldn't eat any wild plant you're not 100% sure about, and that getting a second opinion is also a smart idea. She's clearly extremely knowledgeable, and also wasn't afraid to admit when there was something she wasn't sure about (sign of a good teacher).
A great experience, and also a very reasonable price. I would do it again too, because presumably at a different location and/or season there will be completely different plants available.

To say that Adara knows her stuff about botany and foraging in Israel would be to do her a massive disservice. She has an amazing knowledge of the local plants as well as the herbal medicine folklore that goes alongside them. But more importantly, she is gregarious, open-minded, and makes all her guests feel like instant friends. I joined her tour exploring Lifta, Jerusalem, alongside a small, intimate group of friends. After foraging in the valley, we prepared an Indian-inspired, locally-foraged meal that was simply incredible. Although I'd still be hesitant to forage by myself without Adara's expert guidance, this was an eye-opening and extremely valuable experience - showing just how much food is — literally — on our doorstep!

We took a family group foraging with Adara, then cooked a meal using our foraged food. It was so much fun! Adara was very careful about asking about allergies/dietary restrictions in advance so we could ensure everyone could eat the food. We all learned a lot about identifying edible plants of the region. We also had some small children in the group, and Adara was so wonderful about engaging their attention as well, and explaining the plants in terms they could understand. We made delicious homemade cheese. I definitely recommend this foraging experience to families or other groups who want a fun and different outdoor activity.
