Beautiful venue with lovely surroundings in the shadow of the spectacular Belvoir Castle. Excellent speedy cafe service on a scorching 22c spring day. Very friendly staff and free parking for 2 hours. Loved my 1st experience of this delightful setting. Definitely recommend :)

The new Dutches parlour.
I have just been to the parlour.
I have left with such disappointment. I booked a table which I didn’t state what for, my plan was to have a glass of Prosecco with my mum. We turn up to a locked up place which we then knock on the door to be answered by a man ‘who was lovely , and this is no reflection on him.’
We were the only people in there with no atmosphere or music, to be served an afternoon tea of soggy sandwiches, little cakes and a measly filtered coffee and cup of tea. It was awkward , embarrassing and so disappointing. We put the soggy sandwiches in our bags because we felt so awkward leaving them. It has just cost me £50 which is disgusting. I do not have much money and certainly don’t know how you can justify £50 for soggy horrible sandwiches, a tea and coffee.
At no point of the booking did I ask for afternoon tea. I was under the impression I was going for a Prosecco is a buzzing cafe.
I am honestly so upset and angry with this whole experience that had robbed me of £50.
I would never ever reccomend.
I have tried calling to speak to a manger but the phone just rings.
I cannot begin to explain what an awful robbing experience this new Dutches Parlour is.

Parking is expensive pay & display, the ground is stoney and uneven. It was a Bank Holiday but many shops were closed. We were told we could only have a drink as we hadn’t booked for lunch. It was a waste of our time and money, we won’t be recommending it.

This place has the potential to be lovely however it is let it down by the cafe. I’ve tried it twice now. The first time the menu was sparse, sandwiches were dry and lacking filling. I just though that post covid people were a little rusty. The second time was today just for coffee. We waited ages for two flat whites, when they were finally taken out of the lift and bought to our table, half of the contents of the cups was in the saucers. There was therefore no steamed milk on top. It also didn’t taste great- bitter and stale. The staff are slow and somehow they make it seem like they’re managing air traffic control at Heathrow even though less than half the tables are full. We were going to pop back in after going round the shops but based on that experience we left and went to East Bridgeford Garden Centre where we got a proper flat white for less money.
Such as shame as the cafe itself is beautifully decorated and could be lovely. Sadly it’s more style over substance.
I would like to say however that the Idle Mole is a little gem of garden centre and the staff in there are always friendly.

Shops are crap! Charge for parking! Food and service terrible! Nothing here to warrant another visit and that’s a huge shame as the place is stunning. Needs a massive shake up to get it going but until then I will avoid.

We love the Engine Yard. Some cracking little shoos. Excellent garden center (idle Mole), Duchess Gallery is great but pricey. Margin and Plumb fabulous. Cracking little butchers the Country Victullars, excellent quality locally sourced means. Sadly he now only opens Thursday through to Sunday. Not sure why? Cheriton Coffee and Jorge all quality products great craft shop for children and The Fuel Tank for lunch great Value and stunning views across the Vale of Belvoir. Beautuful walks especially the Jubilee Way. And of course the fabulously stunning Castle with its Capability Brown gardens and an area of OSNB.
Well worth a visit. But Belvoir please stop people parking on the road an accident waiting to happen. Also get your traders back to full opening times they are quite different to what is shown on the website. It is such an asset.

We visited the restaurant for my mums birthday and were seated on the terrace. We had to wait over 20 mins for two glasses of wine that were £7 each. We then watched while an old man had to clear his own table before he could sit down. He was then presented with 2 cold pots of tea. We had to wait nearly and hour for 2 sandwiches and crisps, and fish and chips. Only one sandwich arrived with the fish and chips and no cutlery wash provided. I had to chase the second sandwich and the cutlery. I have visited the restaurant before and it’s normally been fine. The service was terrible and slow and the attitude of a few members of staff was very bad. I will not visiting the restaurant again. We travelled a fair way but will not again. Shame as beautiful day in lovely surroundings.

Visited today for a lunch and a look around the shops.
Frustratingly although advertised as open, the country victualler was shut so we couldn’t get things we had hoped to pick up for supper, and the recently opened farm shop appears permanently closed and empty. Last time we visited this happened - shop late shop was advertised as open and was actually shut and duchess gallery was closed to update their displays. It is just laughable that you can expect people to return to a shopping complex when half the shops advertised as open are actually closed.
Had lunch which was from a very limited menu and the pizza ovens weren’t working. Several dogs on furniture upstairs in the fuel tank which although not really the managements fault, is just grotty. We’re two years on from covid now, why are you still operating a half arsed menu? Also breakfast service stops at 11.30 and lunch doesn’t begin until 12 which is a little bit silly.
Left without the winter walk as they have installed pay and display in all car parks now which I find quite greedy when trying to attract people to the place.

I expected more. Just a couple of shops and eateries. There was a nice little shop that sold food items.

Yes well behaved dogs are most welcome!

Sorry, - I wasn’t even aware that a full restaurant was opening there.
Hello, we are planning to meet up with family in the Vale. Does the cafe meet the needs of someone who is gluten and lactose free, as that would be important. Thank you, Chris Kerton
