This walkway is best in the fall when the leaves are changing. It is an excellent place to take pictures of the foliage and people.

The promenade is short but beautiful so to add to your walk, continue south and you will find a green metal bridge, cross this and you will find yourself on 99E. Keep going south and there are markers that describe the Willamette falls and how the power plant and lumber yard used to be. Also, you can get pretty close to the falls. Enjoy!

The Rangers at the McLoughlin House recommended the walk. It is a beautiful overlook of the river and city below.

I loved this walk. You can look down on the town of Oregon City. You can see two bridges and the Willamette Falls in the distance. The path is paved and the Spring day we walked it there were spring flowers blooming. It is nicely landscaped along the way. I would reccommend it to anyone.

I first discovered this hidden gem when training for a event at the cove, and ever since I have used them many times showing family and friends around Oregon City and exercising.

We enjoyed our picnic lunch in the shad overlooking the river. Many people passed walking their dogs.

Nice walk along the elevated area above the city.
We parked in the downtown, business area and walked up the stairs, about five flights that were fairly steep.
There is also an area to park up at the promenade.
Beautiful walk and view of the river and falls.
Another beautiful view on a walk along the Ocean can be had on the coast at Fort Stevens. If you go out to Fort Stevens, make sure you go to the museum/gift shop on the historical side (access through Hammond) and take the truck tour in the "beast".

The McLoughlin Promenade is located on top of the Singer Hill Bluff on the east bank of the Willamette River at Oregon City. It was built in the late 1930's. And has been on the National Register of Historic Places since May 2014.
You can access McLoughlin Promenade via the Oregon City Municipal Elevator. You can ride the elevator to the top and the promenade is right out side. You can walk north to get to the Barclay House and the McLoughlin House. Or you can walk south along the promenade and enjoy some great views of the Willamette River, Willamette Falls, the Arch Bridge, and historic Oregon City.
You can also walk up the grant staircase if you would rather walk up to the top of the promenade instead of riding up inside the elevator. Just walk toward the elevator and take the side exit before the elevator doors. This leads to the grand staircase that winds its way up to the top. There is a small man made waterfall along the way next to the stairway.

Beautiful- historic park that oversees a willamette landmark and the quaint homes along the path. Take the municipal 90 foot elevator (it's free) to the top for an added bonus. The elevator operator is not only welcoming but knowledgeable about the local sites and town. And it's pet friendly too! Enjoyed watching the 4 legged buddies getting together to enjoy the promenade too!

Such a lovely walk and great view of Oregon City and the river. Had a great picnic. I wouldn't bring small children here unless they are very closely supervised. Very high up! But beautiful. Lots of shopping and good food and drinks nearby.
