Beautiful views. Wonderful, sandy beach. Fantastic place to walk dogs, have barbeques and camp. Terrific to visit winter and summer. Ideal place for families, couples or anyine just wanting some peace and quiet to get way fom busy modern life.

Beautiful secluded beach, short walk from car park. One or two muddy steps but nothing awkward. On a sunny Sunday morning in August we had to share it with at least four other people!!!! There's a load of nonsense in other reviews about the Bothy, we had 2 ice cream tubs at £2.50 each which seemed quite reasonable, sat in the sun in their seating area to enjoy them. Maybe they could provide a toilet?

Secluded bay with beautiful sand and stunning view. Sadly weather wasn’t brilliant when I went, but on a hot summer’s day this would be the perfect place for a family picnic. Cafe close by for ice creams .

Went for a walk on a wet Sunday, more drizzle than rain.
It's a 15-20 minute walk from the raod / car park at the Bothy at Kilbride Farm. You will go through parts where the path is non existent and muddy / boggy areas.
The bay is fine, to be fair it's no better than most we visited and they don't entail a 20 minute traipse over moorland and an old path to get there!
The dog loved it.... it has water so she would! and we enjoyed what was fairly bracing weather.
Not a bay I'd bother re-visiting in all fairness due to the palaver getting to it.

Lucky for us it was a beautiful warm day when we visited this beach for the first time, cannot be accessed by car so involves a 20 min walk down a cobbled track beside a little cafe shack with meals, drinks and Ice cream. The walk was worth it as the view was breathtaking with just a handful of people there today. Lots of dunes and a vast beach with views of hills and woodland absolutely stunning. I’d say wear walking shoes if weather unsettled as could be slippy at different times of year on track. A must see if holidaying on Cowal Peninsula. Simply stunning.

This is not an easy place to access as we found out to our cost as we trailed up and down a single track road in our car to no avail. Our satnav kept taking us to a track which was blocked by a high padlocked gate. (I managed to climb past this however my wife wasn’t able to do so as she has a historic knee injury). We subsequently discovered that this is a private road to some properties which overlook the beach and the owners apparently erected the gate after having difficulties with visitors parking inconsiderately, etc. It is unfortunate for the general public since this is the shortest route to the beach on foot from the road but it is now for the use of a handful of people and possibly makes the beach that bit more exclusive too.
If coming from the Portavadie Ferry take a right at Millhouse crossroads and follow the road until you reach The Bothy at Kilbride Farm. There is parking in a layby here. We followed the track alongside the café on foot for a mile or so and took a path through some fields marked “To the Beach” which eventually led to the wonderful expanse of sand. The latter section covers very boggy ground and we had to detour a couple of times, even with hiking boots on, to avoid going up to our ankles in water.
The bonus of visiting out of season was that we almost had the beach to ourselves. Only a child in welly boots with her mother and gran had ventured along the route around the same time as us.
On the day it was breezy and the water likely freezing however we enjoyed taking a walk the entire length of the beach which is in a picturesque setting. Elsewhere in the world, with more convenient access it would be a favourite with many however perhaps the circumstances make it all the more attractive to those who manage to find it. We thought it was idyllic for a walk.
There are no facilities at the beach itself however if you can be bothered, take a picnic or alternatively just pop in to “The Bothy” for refreshments in the passing. We did so and enjoyed paninis and some cake and coffee - cash is preferred by the owners who were friendly.

Well worth the longish walk in! Much beloved by dog walkers and their. dogs!
Such a beautiful beach with soft sand and plenty of pools to splash through or walk around. The approach to the beach can. be very boggy and. boots /wellies recommended. Do watch for ticks as they seem to thrive here - both on dogs and humans!!

As below. You will pass an old building on the left with some woods.. as you travel
From town. That’s where most folk park there is a sign at the side of the road but hard to spot
