My visit wouldn't be great if I didn't visit this mall of food....yes of food. Being the foodie I am, you can never have enough options. This place caters to all palates from fries to pho. You name it and it's here. I tried not to become greedy and eat everywhere but the group I was with we all tried a variety of items from fries, cake pop, gumbo, bar b que and of course the Infamous Kat's Deli.

100% recommend checking out this market. There is a great selection of foods here - from BBQ to all types of asian food to sandwiches of all kinds to baked goods/dessert to seafood to beer - oh my!! My husband and I stopped by this little beer place, got two funky beers that we poured in a glass so we could walk around (yummy and convnenient) then we split a pulled pork sandwich, buffalo wings and a savory crepe - all of it was so damn good. There are some healthy options but I did not go for those...at least yet. Definitely coming back here again.

We visited Dekalb for the first time this month and enjoyed some amazing dishes.
Our favorite stall is Pierogi Boys. These are the freshest pierogis west of Poland and simply delicious. Try the sampler for $15. It's big enough to share.
Our second favorite is Wilma Jean. We loved the scallion pancake fried chicken sandwich. Throw on some hot sauce, so lovely.
We also enjoyed Katz's pastrami sandwich an an arepa from the Arepa Lady.
For dessert, you can nosh on key lime pies and ice cream churro sandwiches.
Go hungry, share with friends, and enjoy.

We went here with a group of 7 people who all have different tastes. Everyone of us found so many choices and really delicious food! There is also plenty of places to sit. Prices vary from a snack size bun for $4 to a huge crepe for $8 to an empanada for $6 to a Wrap Doner for $14. Too many delicious choices to list. I loved the icecream at Ample Hill $4, the fries at Home Frite, life changing bread at Cafe D'avignon, mouth watering bun at Bunsmith, smooth creamy arepa at Arepa Lady, and the fresh noodles at Hanna Noodle. These are not the only good places. They are all fantastic. This was just all I could eat and still move. This is easy to get to from Brooklyn, and the BEST place to get so many delicious, fresh things to eat in one location!! This is inside a mall right next to Trader Joes. Take the 2 or 3 to Hoyt Street or the BDNQRW to Dekalb Ave. Then it is a short 1/2 block walk.

The new City Point mall in downtown Brooklyn may not have many stores - just Century 21 and Target for now, plus a Trader Joe's in the food court. But that food court is terrific.
The shops may be samples, but the variety is unique, very high quality and diverse. Everything from Katz's delicatessen through arepas, coffee shops, pickles (yes pickles - it's a NYC thIng) and none of the usual Mall chains.
The only complaint I have is that being in the basement results in a low ceiling which can bea bit claustrophobic.
The famous Junior's is nearby, ant the cheesecake is worth it, but the food here is better.

The Food Hall is located in a great location. Just across the bridge into Brooklyn, very easily from 2, 3, 4, 5, A, B, and other trains. It is located in the basement of a huge Century 21. (The century 21 used to be Albee Square Mall.) You enter on either side of Century. If you go upstairs you have access to Century 21 and also a Target. If you go downstairs you have access to Trader Joes and Your Dekalb Market. There is a large variety of food. Everything from Deli, to seafood, lots of deserts, Caribbean food, columbian food and also a good selection of beers and some wine. My only complaint is the space is so filled with vendors, there is little room to eat your food. There are some picnic tables and tables o stand at however for the number of vendors, location and number of people going there it can be frustrating walking around with food in your hand and no where to eat.

I love this food hall. So many different types of food to chose from. You can get lunch, dinner, desserts, pastries... Sometimes, they have live music playing.
Cons: It is poorly lit and, while there are a lot of places to sit, it's just not enough.
Trader Joe's is housed in the back of the hall so you can eat and get your groceries or vice versa. Century 21, Target, a movie theater, and bar all share the same building. What's not to like?!!!

This place is an indoor food court that has the most amazing places! There is something for everyone here from Asian, to BBQ to Hawaiian as well as a big Italian sandwich! Most places sell wine or beer so what a fun date night this would be to eat/drink your way through! Loved the Wiki Wiki poke bowl - wow!

The Dekalb Market is a dark and dreary version of a suburban mall food court transported to an ugly Brooklyn building's basement. If possible its actually sadder than a mall's food court. Maybe this is the new Brooklyn - a place where bland suburbanites have moved in and displaced the locals and now they are bringing their dullness with them.
Okay, the basement is filled with some New York institutions like Katz's. But seriously is there a worse ersatz Jewish deli than Katz's? Also there is the Arepa Lady who has taken her overrated stand, to this mess of a place. I made the mistake of ordering something from this kiosk and it was as below average as the whole place. The order was wrong and the counter worker was just as miserable being there as the patrons.
Of all the things that are wrong here the worst is the lack of seating. I guess the developers of the DeKalb Martket do not care about the comfort of the diners. If you do find a seat its going to be an uncomfortable and filthy communal bench.
There are many of these new food courts going up and some are fine because they have a sense of place and they embrace the locations they occupy. Not at the Dekalb Market. There are too many places to go in Brooklyn to eat, but the dark hellish basement called the DeKalb Market shouldn't be one of them.

My family, we are from Oahu, came here to try "Wiki Wiki" a Hawaiian vendor at the Dekalb Market Hall and was pleasantly surprised. We recommend everything. Our favorites were the Poke, Loco Moco and Mixed Plate. My kids haven't been home to Hawaii in several months and they were critical of the more Korean influence, but I thought it was a nice change and it tasted so good. It works! Can't wait to come back!
