Grave incidente de seguridad

I never leave reviews but feel compelled to warn others of my experience. I visited the park on 17th of May and had a fantastic time with my two grandchildren until we went to the cafe where there was a man I would say in his forties in the queue with his hand down the front of his trousers and underwear clearly touching himself. I was disgusted and shocked! He was very blatant in his actions in the middle of a cafe full of children, clearly happy to be seen. I went to the reception desk to report this behaviour only to be told that he is one of the stewards in the building and regularly has his hand down his trousers. I dont know what type of man chooses to work in a country park with two play areas in it and walks around with his hand down his underwear but I will never return to this park with my grandchildren and will warn everyone I know to keep their children and grandchildren well away. NLC should be ashamed having someone like that work in a country park full of children.

Drumpellier cafe particularly the staff really do make a BIG difference when I visit. I have a severely autistic child who runs behind the counter and the staff immediately serve me knowing the challenges I face. Genuinely they are really brilliant and without them I wouldn’t be able to visit the park as my son looks forward to his wee treat n the cafe. Would recommend this place anytime, good food, good service and above all the cafe staff are genuinely lovely and helpful people.

Cafe was dirty and messy staff couldn't care less,no one cleaning, staff on phone and even in the middle of all the mess chose to sit and have their lunch and wasn't even busy. Totally unacceptable way to run a business, wouldn't return. I have family members who live local and would now not go or recommend. Very disappointed .

Walked around this amazing area a few times this week and never did the same circuit twice, you must visit the visitorsvisitor’s Centre and take photos of all the routes, there’s so many what inter link. The people I came in contact with were so friendly.
You can have a nice 1 mile walk around the loch itself or go rambling through the forest and grass areas has there’s so many trails on offer.
Nice fort and play area for the wee one’s, an on-site ice cream van and cafe within the visitors centre and spacious outdoor area to sit and free car parking.

The country park itself is really lovely, and the play parks are great. We stopped at the cafe for coffee and lunch, went up and ordered and the lady behind the till was the rudest, most unpleasant person I have ever met. Would not be helpful, and when order had something missing, he loudly sighed, rolled her eyes and went and got the sandwich in the most passive aggressive way I have ever seen in anyone, much less service people. We will never be going to the cafe again. Please fire those women.

Great place for a saunter with various distance walks for all ages. Car park was jammed full when we arrived but managed to gay the only space left. Walks were very busy and both the children's play areas were busy. Very good cafe and information areas. Plenty of toilets. All in all an excellent place for everyone

We have visited this park a few times with our 2 grandaughters they both like it.there are 2 parks as well. One for the younger kids. We like the one with the fortress as we can go on it as well. Slides were fast. You can also walk round the water side. Toilets and cafe were closed when we went.
There were 2 ice-cream vans there.
The park was really busy.
We would definitely return

Can dogs swim in the Loch? A lot of places near by seem to be affected my algie?

No, it isn't allowed.
There are many swans and ducks on the loch who would be disturbed to put it lightly by dogs splashing about.
Some swans are alarmed by dogs being walked on the paths alongside the loch.
Hope this helps!
How much does it cost?

Hi the park is free with various places that you can walk . ie around the loch through the woods or at the back of the park there is a field that you can walk which leads you to the wood at the back of the lochl

How do I get there using public transport from Blairhill railway station

There isnt any public transport that takes you right to it unfortunately but it isnt too far if fit enough to walk? Or a few minutes by taxi from the station, if you come up the stairs out of Blairhill station there are a few options of which way to go,but if you don't know the area it may not seem simple- as the crow flies as they say you can cross the road after you come out of station and walk down the grass park to the bridge,go under the bridge and walk up past the new big school ( St Ambrose/Buchanan High)to the main road, keeping walking to the left and it is a walk along from there past the golf course. It sounds more awkward than it is lol! If First time visit you could get a taxi from the station and decide if you feel you would be Ok walking? Probably cost a few pounds and just ask taxi driver for a card to phone to go back,? Hope this helps a bit lol!
