Fabulous place to come!! Came here as a school child back in the late 70’s early 80’s. wonderful memories came flooding back. Came as a whole school party, and all involved absolutely loved it. Older children had survival skills, younger children went den building, pond dipping, grass sweeping for bugs, making tree elves from clay. They couldn’t get enough of it. Highly recommend experiencing this, as so many children don’t want to get dirty or even think of solutions for den building. Great team work skills being made here. I think they are open to the public at times and possibly term break times.

This is a fantastic place for my young boys to explore, get muddy, hide and learn about the great outdoors. Bring a picnic and a change of clothes and expect to get muddy. Let them run around and feel free to let their hair down. We all come away with big smiles on our faces.

We love going to the Forest Tots open sessions on a Tuesday morning (in term time). It's great value - for £3 you have access to all the outdoor spaces. My toddler loves playing in the mud kitchen, the sound garden and just generally running on the grass. We particularly loved when they celebrated International Mud Day! What a great way for children to learn outdoors!

Having heard all sorts of horror stories about Hill End over the years, I was pleasantly surprised when I visited with our class at the end of July. The site was very neat and tidy and the building which we used for the day was clean and tidy. The highlight of our day was den building in the woods....absolutely fantastic.....it was enjoyed by children and adults alike. I have to admit....I found the pond dipping tedious.....there seemed to be a heck of a lot of mud and not much else. I have to agree with the previous reviewer who said the website isn't very good....it's not!

Oxford centre is about 5/6 miles away. Easy enough to get to. There is a park and ride along the botley road or parking in the centre too.

How easy is it to get back and forth to The Hill End Centre from central Oxford? I am working here and just need some advice on bus routes etc.
