Nice little area, with stylish cafes and bars. However, the three streets have nothing of an old town about them, but look rather recreated if you look at the rest of the city. It's still worth a visit.

Same opinion expressed about Saranda: beyond the tourist area (waterfront) dirty city, neglected, full of beggars with children even infants in tow, dogs and cats skin and bones in the streets (embarrassing straying) in both cases no one gives a damn, total self-management of the city, people behind the wheel who took the license do not know where and how... Positive note, managers of the premises slightly more courteous than Saranda. Problems with the language, because they get nervous if you don't speak Albanian, but many of them don't even communicate in English, and let alone in Italian (but they understand it).. it could have been a great opportunity for this country to redeem itself, tourism "brings money" only thanks to this wave of social advertising, but it could also end since then almost nothing is true. As for us, in fact, never again Albania 👋

The Old Town of Aurona, although limited in size, is beautiful and interesting. An important part of it is pedestrian, so it is ⁇ friendly to pedestrians and children. Of course, in many places tourist shops have emerged, altering the traditionally limited image of the city.

Reported as Old Town, it is actually a 150m long street completely touristized with bars and shops. The buildings are probably truly ancient but nothing historical can be perceived. To make matters worse, an unfinished and abandoned colossus (perhaps from the communist period) which harks back to Soviet brutalist architecture, looms like a boulder over this small street.

The Old Town is extremely colorful. There are numerous cafes, shopping and souvenir shops. The Old Town is a 30 second walk from Flag Square.

The half-empty streets of the old town will allow you to look at the resort town from a different perspective. The streets are under restoration, only 2-3 are completed. The infrastructure has not yet been fully developed, but in the shops and cafes outside the restored streets there are very good-natured residents, most of them do not know either English or Italian.

In reality it is not ancient Vlora but the part of Vlora built during the Italian domination. Architecture outside the Albanian scheme. Today there are various places to drink and eat. Pretty. Speaking with some Albanians I discovered that they praised that historical period.
