This place is TERRIBLE.
For starters, the rooms were supposed to be BsF 180 but they charged us BsF 200 because were paying cash, which we thought made no sense whatsoever. Then the lady at the front desk told us she had dengue fever -horrific news as the town is full of mosquitoes.
Our "rooms" were basically 4 poorly built walls with a ceiling. The air conditioning was poorly fitted, so much so that insects could come into the room through the holes on the side. We saw a giant cockroach walking on one of the walls, when I ran to kill it, it escaped through a huge gap between the floor and the wall. The bedsheets and the one towel we were given were ancient (honestly, should have been thrown out years ago) and there was no hot water. Just a genuinely run-down, depressing place completely unfit for human use.
The outside of the "building" (I use inverted commas because it's like 30% finished) seems dirty, stagnant water everywhere, mosquitoes, bars, cars and people walking everywhere, shouting, loud music right outside your window, etc.
The beach is right there but, with the rains of late 2010, a lot of people around the area were left homeless and they were all staying at nearby shelters so they all came to the beach to pass time and left the place FULL of rubbish. It was so bad, I didn't even get in the water.
We just couldn't wait to leave. I would rather sleep in the car than stay there again.
This is a pity because the general concensus is that Adicora isquite a nice place. In fact a family member who used to live in Falcon advised us to go there. But now after the rains and with all the displaced people living in shelters there, it's just better not to go there. I have no doubt Adicora will recover its beauty but for now, it's better to holiday elsewhere.
