Aloha Bernard I understand well how it is for a travelling parent when their child is not accommodated and for that I am very sorry. I saw you the morning after you arrived late at night and asked if you would connect with me if there were anything further. I am very sorry for the error we made during your stay and I am hoping you will give us a chance in the future. You have my card and just in case here is my E-mail: KRasmussen@CastleResorts.com - please feel free to communicate with me should you need me in the future. I am here to help our guests on property... Kasper

Hi, I am going to Maui next week. I have 2 boys, one of 3 years and one of 5 years. They love the beach. Do you recomend me this hotel? Did you knew another better hotel? Thank you very much and sorry for my english. Maxi
Hello Maxi, Yes it's a perfect place for children. It has a toddler's pool and adult pool and is directly across from a family beach with lifeguards. We can rent you our place for a last minute price of $199/night USD plus taxes for an ocean view top floor condo with 2 bedrooms. There is also a cleaning fee of $145US plus tax and damage insurance of $30. The front desk also charges $35 upon check in for resort amenities. If you are interested please go to VRBO number 459416 Annette

We are booked for 2 weeks with HSI and they put us one week in one unit and another week in another unit 5-415 Nov. 23 - Dec 1 and unit 7-402 Dec. 1-8. Now looking on TripAdvisor I am very worried about the rooms we have been given and HSI said we couldn't contact staff for information. So my question is are there any pictures or details about these rooms as they stand today. We work for a Canadian Airline (WestJet) and I am starting to wonder if we made a terrible mistake. Any help you could provide would be very welcome and if you can't respond I totally understand. thank you Christa S
I stayed in 7-402 in March. I will paste my review here for you. Feel free to ask any specific questions you may have. Please keep in mind that the unit MAY have been updated since we were there. This is a top level condo, two bedroom two bath and a nice balcony. Checking in at the office was fast and straightforward. We had an assigned parking space directly adjacent to the entrance to our building. The condo, at first glance seemed run down and dirty. The carpet in the bedrooms is badly stained. The tile in the kitchen is damaged (it looked dirty but it was actually missing chips out of the floor). There were roach traps dispersed throughout the kitchen (turns out that when you turn out the lights the roaches came out). The layout of the unit is actually quite cool. The first bedroom is at the front of the unit by the entrance. There is a bathroom adjacent to this 12x12 room (queen bed). This is the room with extremely stained carpet. The bed was above average. The room has a smallish TV. The bathroom is smallish. The floor and shower are VERY slippery when wet. We requested some slip resistant mats the day of our arrival (we had to leave a message for HSI because they are not available on the weekend) and mats were finally delivered on Wednesday. This front bedroom had a portable floor mounted AC appliance. This is a NOISY thing, though it did make the room much more comfortable temperature wise. The next room encountered is the kitchen. We found that there were varied and sufficient dishes and utensils, though the things in the cupboards were FAR from clean. We put everything in the dishwasher up front. The kitchen smelled much better after washing the dishes. There is a pullout bed/couch in the family room area. This was an above average bed. There is a window mount/through the wall ac unit in this room. It is VERY loud, but certainly helped take the edge off of the heat. There is a very cool spiral staircase that leads up to the second bedroom. This is the larger bedroom with a larger bathroom. The condo ran out of hot water VERY quickly every morning. We did have 4 adults and two children in our party. The unit is meant to house up to six people, though the hot water situation is clearly inadequate for so many quests. This upper bedroom is loft in every sense of the word. It is open to the family room area below with little to no privacy. The ceiling is very high. There are two fans in this area, but noticeably NO air conditioning. The other thing that was hard to deal with is that the light fixtures in the second bedroom did not work. We replaced the light bulbs, we tried everything, to no affect. The floor plan is unique and actually quite cool. Too bad the place has not been better maintained or updated. The lack of real air conditioning is a serious negative. We hoped for significant ocean breezes so that we could be comfortable and not have to run the window shaking noisy low class air conditioners. This particular unit does not come with any house keeping during the course of your stay. We were told we could order and pay for house keeping if do desired. We made arrangements for a midweek housekeeping hit the week before traveling to Maui. No one ever came to do this house keeping. Calling HSI is a complete joke. We spent 45 minutes and longer on hold on the phone to try and address the issues with the unit. HSI was utterly non-responsive. We made use of the bbq facilities several evenings. They were clean and functional. This was a very nice part of our stay. There are beautiful gardens around the resort. The pool was large, clean and warm. We very much enjoyed spending time at the pool after dark. The view from the lanai was very nice, though NOT exactly a city or ocean view. It's best description would be a garden view.

Hi all I am looking to see if anyone has recently stayed in unit 7-402 we are scheduled to stay there in December and I am very worried about some of the older posts that I have read. I am just looking to prepare myself before hand as I don't want my vacation destroyed when we get there and find out it is going to be an issue.
We booked that unit last May through HSI. We did not have the dirt or bug issues that others have noted. The unit does have some wear and tear issues (stained carpet, chipped tiles , roach traps etc) but other than that we did not find any dirt or bugs during our stay. We did not need to use the A/C that much but the one unit can be noisy. All the equipment worked fine and the layout of the unit is great and worked well for our family (my wife and I and our 20 year old daughter and 19 year old son). One of the kids slept on the pull out couch. The location is first rate with a great beach across the street from complex. The grounds are well kept and the pools , hot tubs are well maintained. Check in was easy and we had parking right outside the entrance to the building. There are a lot of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Overall I would say the room is OK not great but it met our needs and the complex is r ally nice with a great location. To sum it up we would stay in that unit again.

Hi there, I just read about an experience at Kamaole Sands building 4, and it being infested with bugs. We are supposed to be going to Maui and staying in building 4 in November 2018. Do you happen to know if the whole building is infested? Is it scheduled for a fumigation, as other buildings have been in the past? Would love to get more information asap. Thanks in advance!
I am unsure about this sorry.

I was wondering if anyone has stayed in unit 5-415. I will be arriving this summer and was interested in knowing what amenities are in unit, such as beach towels\chairs. Also would the property management be able to answer these questions if I contacted them? We booked through a travel website where there were no specifics given besides the unit layout. Thanks in advance!
We have been staying at Kamaole Sands for the past 15 years. All the units are privately owned. The majority of them are well equipped and nicely furnished. Unless you can find someone who has rented this unit there is no way to find out about the unit. We have found that reading the reviews from past renter is the best way to find out about the unit. Check out the pictures of the unit and see if it has been updated and remodeled. The people that manage the unit very seldom go in the unit. Good luck it is a great place to stay, close to everything.
