Had a lovely time and the family was friendly. We all got to play with or pet their horses, pigs, and guinea pigs, not to mention the dogs! The location was also ideal, being closer than others to Thor's cave, Dovedale, the ruined town hall...

Lovely
A wonderful non working farm setting, lovely owner's, the accommodation has everything you require including a hit tub altho alittle expensive as an extra add on.
My only criticism is the cleaner you pay lots of money too needs a refresher course on her attention to detail, I have my own cleaning business and it isnt up to the standard you deserve it to be.

Lovely family break
Lovely, well equipped and large cottage for family and doggo. Felt very at home and welcomed by all, dog loved having free reign to run around courtyard and we all enjoyed diesel the pig, the numerous horses, rabbits, cats and dogs! Hot tub a bonus last minute addition which we made good use off watching sunset over the fields. Even enjoyed a dog free day at Alton towers thanks to the hosts keeping him entertained and tiring him out. Highly recommend to use as a base or for a few days of board games and family time.

Family weekend
Ideal property for our family weekend, as it is situated in an area with plenty of nearby walks and differing activities.

Brilliant little cottage
The cottage had everything you need, the hosts even left a cute milk and gingerbread as a welcome present. Was shown how to use everything, social distnacing well observed around the grounds. Kids loved the horses and were so happy we were allowed to stroke them. Cottage was clean and free WiFi made the stay more enjoyable for kids, in cedar cottage WiFi is weak in kids bedroom but works well in rest of house. The hosts even have a small garden area well equipped with playground equipment which is sanitised after use.

Cosy cottage on border with peaks
Perfect cottage with all we needed for the weekend. Many hiking routes nearby. The hosts were very friendly. Visited a nearby pub which was lovely. Would recommend!

Excellent host and Marvellous Cottage
Nice and Cosy, very appropriate for 6 of us for little short break far from the madding crowd. host lives near by but they never came to bother us or spied on us..when there was a problem with heating, they came and fixed it straight away.

A warm welcome
We stayed at Cedar cottage for the weekend (20-22/07) as a base for easy route to Alton Towers. Due to heavy traffic from London we didn’t arrive till 10pm to find the cottage unlocked and a lovely welcome note waiting for us. As soon as owners realised we had arrive (Home on site) Paul came over to personally welcome us and quickly confirm how the window locks work despite the late hour.
The cottage was cosy and perfect location for access to Alton Towers and my grandson of 5 years loved visiting the horses and giant rabbits on Saturday evening. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped to enable me to cook breakfast both mornings for hungry young adults If it’s a base you are looking for and not too fussed about the latest fixtures and fittings then perfect. We will certainly returning next year.

Poor customer service
I will start with a positive that I cannot fault the location how ever our stay was unpleasant due to the owners.
Due to an "admin" error the two cottage we had booked and paid for were not ready or occupied by other holiday makers. I understand mistakes do happen but the to blame myself when I had a mail stating seen you in June was very insulting! We lost the first evening of our stay due to a lot of faffing by the owners who managed to shout sorry across the yard when it was pointed out their lack of interest! Our party consisted of two families with toddlers and babies who had to bunk up in a two bed cottage for the first night, this was less than ideal as the children do not sleep well in company!
The cottages were what you would expect for the price and within good distance of Alton towers and a excellent bike trail. However disappointed to find two mouse traps left exposed, not ideal for curious little fingers and sadly the hen party that stayed the night before had been sick in the bed which left a pungent smell despite the cleaners best efforts. (The cleaner was lovely)

We booked this place because it was listed as having free wifi. I had to work whilst we were away and have two teenage children who will expire if not connected to their social media. On arrival we were shown round, the accomodation was nice, homely and in nice surroundings. I checked the internet as soon as we arrived but got nothing. I raised it with the owner who has obviously had this conversation lots of times.. I accept that this farm is a long way from a town, and internet may well be a bit hit and miss but you need to be honest about that when advertising your property. If you are visiting the region and dont need internet then this is a good spot but if like me you need to work or need internet for your kids you need to know that for us we often had no internet at all for hours and when it was there it took ages just to load a page. Once you known that you can make your own choice. If the net is not important to you its a lovely place.
