My husband and I and our 7 month old puppy, Juno, rented Buddy's Retreat for 8 nights. We had specific requirements, as my husband is disabled as a result of a stroke. This cabin in the woods is not only flawlessly built but the setting is picture perfect! Juno thrived during our stay, running endlessly in the woods, swimming in the lake, picking up every stick or piece of bark he could find! We are now back home in St. Catharines and he is a totally different dog. Cathy and Gen went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable (and successful) as possible. Their attention to detail inside and outside make Buddy's Retreat the perfect location for a quiet getaway. Listening to the call of the loons was so relaxing that we can't wait to go back! Cathy, Gen and Elwood were perfect hosts and we thank them for a most enjoyable week!

My husband and I booked this cottage for a week in June. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. Although the cottage is small, it is well thought out with everything we could need. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped. The cottage was very clean and well cared for. The location was perfect for walking, running, canoeing and cycling. We made good use of the screened porch because the wet spring brought many mosquitoes and appreciated the utility room at the back for storage of our bikes and canoeing equipment. The owners are really friendly and thoughtful. We were even gifted a bottle of apple cider and home baked bread. We thoroughly recommend the cottage. We did not bring a pet, but we can see that it is a haven for dogs. Thank you Cathy for your kind attention.

My boyfriend, our little dog and I had the BEST time at Buddy's retreat! The cabin itself was extremely clean and looks brand new, even the wrap around deck/balcony and outdoor furniture were spotless. Cathy and Genny are fabulous hosts and couldn't be more accommodating. The retreat was absolputely perfect for what we were looking for, a cosy, relaxing getaway with plenty of outdoor safe space for our dog to run around and a lake for us to swim in. The lake itself is beautiful, clear water and was very warm considering it was September! The cabin comes with canoes and a bigger row boat which are so much fun to use. Couldn't recommend Buddy's Retreat more and we can't wait to go back and visit.

This was a great cottage. Everything we hoped for and more. It was a great spot for us, as well as our dog. We didn't want to leave and are already planning our return trip.

Buddies Retreat was the best place to getaway, it was better then I ever could have imagined. I was looking for a recluse place to relax and enjoy the outdoors at it's best and Buddies Retreat was the perfect place. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and family!

We just returned from an amazing and relaxing three day stay at Buddy's Retreat. Cathy, Gen and Elwood (the dog) gave us a warm welcome with freshly baked bread, chocolates and a bottle of red wine. They showed us around the house and the property, explained everything there was to know and made sure we had all we needed. Five star hospitality throughout our stay! The cottage is beautiful, cozy and very clean with a fully equipped kitchen, a gas BBQ on the deck and everything else you need for a comfortable stay. There's a lovely fireplace inside and a fire pit outside. The water access is beautiful and secluded, and we really enjoyed hanging out on the dock or in the Muskoka chairs overlooking the water - enjoying the sunrise and yoga on the dock was the best way to start each morning! Highly recommended, We can't wait to go back next summer!
