We have chartered several different boats in my 4 trips down to Water Island. Some boats (like center console boats) are faster and can get to more places in an afternoon. But the rides are rough and loud. Our experience with Antillean was far more enjoyable. Sailing on a 50’ sailboat is an experience you won’t be disappointed with. It’s relaxing and genuinely fun. And the captain makes the experience unique. He free dove into underwater caves looking for lobster while we snorkeled. It was really fun to watch. He showed us sea turtles, sting rays and reef wrecks. It was amazing! He grew up on the islands and knows everything about them. I highly recommend.

Matthias was such a great host: we had one of our best days ever on the Antillean! During our beautiful day trip on board, we had the chance to explore some remote places around the island of St. Thomas. He also brought us to a reef where there was no other boat, we snorkeled around it and we had the chance to admire a gorgeous marine world (including a small shark!) To end the trip he brought us to honeymoon beach to enjoy an amazing sunset! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My husband and I were visiting USVI for the first time and wanted to go on a sailing outing from St. Thomas, but the initial charter I contacted wasn't taking reservations; the captain gave me Matthias' information for the Antillean and told me to reach out to him for a day sail. He had nothing but good things to say about Matthias and Antillean charters, and when I contacted Matthias, he was so accommodating in customizing our 6-hour day sail- timing it perfectly for ending the day with a beautiful sunset- was really responsive to my questions and ideas, and made booking with him incredibly easy. Since we had never been to the islands before, we told him what kind of outing we were looking for and let him pick the locations and manage the schedule, and he didn't disappoint! When the day came to go aboard their monohull, everything was absolutely seamless. Matthias gave me instructions on where to meet him for pickup at the docks and pickup was a breeze. He had contacted me ahead of time about what kind of drinks, alcohol, and snacks we would like and everything was already aboard the ship. The sailboat was absolutely beautiful, modern, well-appointed, and comfortable. Matthias' sister, Cassandra, was first mate for the day and was absolutely amazing as well; both of them were really knowledgeable and incredibly kind, and we ended up getting along so well, we just sat and talked on the boat for a while. We wanted to go snorkeling so Matthias and Cassandra showed up some really cool snorkel spots and pointing things out to us in the water as we swam. Matthias is also a free diver and a spear fishermen, and it was amazing watching him swim through rock structures and even catch lobsters! I had never used traditional snorkel gear before, and they both went out of their way to show me how to use the mask and snorkel, and checked on me frequently to see how I was holding up. Overall, I cannot recommend Matthias and the Antillean enough! We had the absolute perfect day out on the water and I can confidently say it was because of Captain Matthias, his over-the-top hospitality and customer service, and the thoughtful touches for our trip throughout the day. It was my husband and I's favorite part of our entire trip; we cannot wait to sail with Matthias again in the future!

Matthias and Dominic are great hosts. Antillean is well maintained and outfitted. We got to decide what we wanted to do. We highly recommend this charter. ——————————- Matthias was brought up as a child in part on a boat in the Virgins Islands. He has the local knowledge and experience of these islands. He will give you the options and you decide when and were to go and to do what, all the while he is making sure you are in the best harbors for your experiences and the nights sleep. Historically, Amber has been the chef. Yet Amber was to stay home in that Matthias and Amber have a new baby. So this concerned us in that to us the chef was an unknown. Dominic..... stunned us with his food selections and presentations. The food was excellent. Some meals were fresh from the ocean. (Lobster/fish) Unbelievable! Antillean is well maintained. A great blue water boat. A very nice feature is that each cabin (berth) has its own head..... and its electric! Fancy! We highly recommend this Charter..... The Best!
