We spent two weeks in Cottage des Alberes and other members of the family in Canigou. We have been to this area many times and have decided that Villelongue is the perfect location for visiting other Alberes villages, walking in the mountains, the coast and Ceret.
The cottages have character, are well laid-out, well-equipped, spacious and with plenty of bathrooms!
The pool was very welcome, as it was hot (not surprising in July!) It was maintained daily, so the water was immaculate.
There is also bbq, and we used ours a few times - there’s plenty of outdoor furniture for alfresco dining.
A local shop sells bread (best to order it to be certain) and most things we needed. A Carrefour is only a couple of miles away.
We had a wonderful evening meal at Bodega 66 in the village, plus we ate at the pizza restaurant. Both do delicious food at an incredibly reasonable price, AND you can drink and walk home!
We will be going back as soon as we can!

Your summation will certainly assist other guests to obtain a good feel for what to expect at our properties, the accommodation, facilities, garden and pool, the village amenities in Villelongue dels Monts, nearby restaurants in walking distance and the wonderful climate in the sunny south of France. Hidden gem near Argeles
Visited in midsummer with children and grand children perfectly accommodated in two cottages with private pool. Fabulous views from the upstairs windows of Cottage des Alberes. The pool was hugely popular with all three generations and we were grateful for the reassurance of the pool alarm which keeps children safe. We enjoyed sunshine and very warm temperatures from dawn till dusk every day and as we sat by the pool in the evening, we were thrilled by the spectacular sunset performance of five young swallows being fed by their parents.
There are some good local restaurants within walking distance and the delicious offerings at the local boulangerie make it well worth the walk! Thanks to owners Paul and Annette for a personalised service ensuring the needs of the entire party were catered for. Beautiful area. Lots to do locally and the beaches of Argeles just a short drive away.

It was a pleasure dealing with you throughout and glad to hear that our two adjacent properties - Cottage des Alberes and Canigou were perfect for your 3 - generation family holiday. The south and west facing garden is great - especially in summer for lazing by the pool and enjoying BBQ and meals in the garden. The village restaurants - just a 5 min walk are handy, and to have the beach approx. 15mins drive is often the perfect balance. Always happy to provide a personalised service for our guests- it be nice to have you back again next year.

Beautiful Cottage
Paul & Annette have made this cottage beautiful. We stayed here in June with friends where we had such a fabulous time. The large open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area made perfect for entertaining. 3 bathrooms and 3 beautiful bedrooms one of which opened onto the large swimming pool and outdoor area at the back of the cottage. Every facility was catered for in this fabulous cottage serving all our needs. Ideally located for all ages with great restaurants and beaches nearby. We will come back and enjoy all over again!

Beautiful scenic cottage
From the beginning of the process we found Paul and Annette very informative. It was reassuring that everything was clearly explained by them before we arrived, from details about the house to the local restaurants, and everything was as we expected and more.
We found the location to be great. Villelonge-dels-monts was a beautiful small French village at the foot of the Alberes mountains.There are great facilites int eh village including a bar, shop and our favourite restaurant Coco Pizza . The food was great, but what really made for us was the service.
In term of the house, everything was as expected and it served our needs perfectly.The house was well equipped and a good size for our family of 3 adults and 2 children. The pool was great - having a pool alarm was also reassuring and also made the kids take pool safety seriously. We enjoyed the pool every day. Our kids (9 and 12) were tall enough the stand up in the shallow end and can both swim so they had a great time playing in it for hours every day.
And going further afield we visited Collioure a couple of times and Carcassonne. In Collioure we loved eating out on the edge of the beach and swimming in the Mediterranean sea. The atmosphere at night was amazing and we would really recommending eating there to young families. It was great to see families out enjoying themselves late at night and made for a really relaxing time.

Spring in Southern France
We stayed in this amazing location for Easter We visited France Spain and Andorra a fab holiday to recharge our batteries The weather was kind ideal for exploring the area The local beaches were a five minute drive away with some really nice restaurants and bars that were reasonably priced The cottage was clean and had just about everything you needed to make your holiday complete Definatelyworth a visit

Lovely cottage/gite in a lovely setting and nearby village is great, handy for Perpignan and the beaches.
Good for quiet break and handy for Gerona airport, easy to get to beaches, collioure and Perpignan.
Local village is 5 minutes walk downhill, bit of a hill on the way back but no problem unless you have mobility problems. Locals very friendly and there is a really good bar and pizza place.
House is clean, bit small for 6 adults but would be good for family. Rustic and characterful. Pool area is nice, shared with another family but it was no problem and they were good company.
Slightly awkward having to access the pool via a downstairs bedroom but was not a major problem as it can be accessed around the side of the house .

Seems as though you made good use of the local restaurants and bar, which are just a 5 minutes stroll down the hill. Edge of a quiet village at the foot of the Pyrenees with nice walks.
We stayed in two of the well equipped cottages on the edge of a small village. Pool with garden spaces shared with other guests but unfortunately the pool didn't work for almost our whole stay. Friendly and helpful owners and great people for local information. Easy access to beach and town of Argeles-sur-Mer.

It was also a pleasure to meet you personally having had a dialogue by email before your arrival. If you re-call the swimming pool was in the process of being opened up for the season after the winter shutdown. We are glad to report that the pool was ready during your stay and our guests have been using the pool since then and will continue to do so through until the end of October.
