Kiddle Bay Cottage was the perfect getaway for my family. We had three adults and four teenagers, so the upper and lower sections of the house were perfect. We snorkeled all over the island and the snorkeling at Kiddle Bay was by far the best. The house was clean, well maintained and had everything else needed. I highly recommend a stay here and we hope to visit again very soon!

We loved Kiddel Bay Cottage! We traveled as two couples and rented the upper level which worked out perfectly. Only minutes to Salt Pond Bay (our favorite). About a 15 minutes drive to Coral Bay where you will find provisions and enough restaurants to get you through the week. This is the quiet.....you feel completely alone.....end of the island. Definitely need a jeep to get up the road to the house. Spectacular view and well equipped house. Rent snorkel gear as the snorkeling on St John is awesome.

Kiddle Bay Cottage went above and beyond our expectations. Kelsey was great at answering my questions and meeting up upon our arrival was super smooth. She made herself available for any questions or concerns during the week, but we had none! Waking up to a private beach with amazing snorkeling and breathtaking views. Falling asleep to the sounds of the waves and the night critters. With air conditioning in every bedroom, even uncomfortable nights were perfect in Kiddle Bay. The kitchen was just right for meal prep for our family of six. Parking was much easier than other homes on the island and with the sandy beaches of Salt Pond Bay just done the road, you barely have to drive if you don’t want to! We won’t even look around the next time we come to St. John; Kiddle Bay Cottage is the obvious choice!

the Perch interior is beautiful and comfortable. the only complaints on it is the cleaning could have been better -- i wore water shoes in the master shower ... and they depend on renters to clean the dishes. well, they should check that as we had to clean every piece we used Before we used it. the deck was gorgeous and we didn't experience any pesky biting bugs at all. the stars at night were the best i've seen since Belize, an absolutely Awesome show! we lounged and stared upward every night. having Kiddel Bay all to ourselves (usually) was a delight. it was always calm and easy to snorkel. i would rent the Perch again and would recommend it to others.

We have been to St. John a dozen times and this is our favorite spot. Close to Coral Bay, Kiddel Bay cottage is a perfect place for those who want some privacy but quick access to your own beach. The cottage is clean, comfortable and fully outfitted with everything you need. The beach, while rocky (don’t forget your watershoes), has some of the best snorkeling on St. John. But the absolutely best part of this cottage is sitting on one of the decks and enjoying the view. We’ve been to homes in some of St. John’s most luxurious neighborhoods and, the truth is, the view at Kiddel Bay cottage is far superior. The nighttime sky is absolutely unforgettable, as is waking up in the night and seeing a lighted cruise ship make its way past your own little bay. True, you do have to drive a little to get to sandy beaches and restaurants, but for us, that’s all part of the St. John adventure.

My husband & I had a hurricane-delayed honeymoon to USVI that included stays on both St Thomas & St John. We should’ve spent the entire vacation on St John! The Perch at Kiddel Bay was spectacular! With only a couple of friendly neighbors around, we felt like we were on a private island. We had a magnificent view of Kiddel Bay, which was just a short walk away, and perfect for snorkeling & exploring. The tidal pool was like an open aquarium with sea urchins, sea stars, hermit crabs, and lots of fish. We enjoyed scenic walks to Grootpan Bay, also great for snorkeling and beach-combing, and saw donkeys, hummingbirds, and an occasional fisherman come & go. We stayed outside on the deck as much as possible, to grill steaks, watch the stars, see the sunrise, and enjoy our morning coffee. The cottage was very spacious, had nice, comfortable furniture, well-stocked kitchen, and lots of amenities like the grill, beach chairs, beach towels, ice blocks, and a cooler. We are planning a return trip with my sons!!

We enjoyed a two week stay at Kiddel Bay Perch between February and March 2018. The house is situated in the most ideal location imaginable, and is just a 3 minute walk to its gorgeous and mostly private beach cove for snorkeling and sunbathing. The house itself was comfortable, spacious, and well-tooled for cooking and relaxing. When we had needs arise, the staff was very prompt in assisting us. We would gladly stay here again! Since the hurricanes of 2017 hit St. John island very hard, we weren’t quite sure what to expect in terms of the island being fully functional. Indeed, there was quite a lot of damage to the landscape of the island, and many of the more rural restaurants and bars were closed. But grocery stores were open, most all beaches and trails were open, we had consistent power (except one planned outage), and the roads were intact and easily drivable in our rental jeep. We love to cook, and we were able to easily keep ourselves well supplied with healthy food. The property management staff was very attentive to our needs, and was able to quickly supply us with things that we needed like a chef knife for cooking, an extra window air conditioner, extra beach chairs, etc. In our view, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was happy and accommodated. Also, I feel very confident that they will take action on the minor recommendations that we gave them after our stay to make the home even better. The ocean was beautiful, though there appeared to be some hurricane damage to the coral in the island’s less protected places. We saw an incredible amount of aquatic wildlife including sea turtles, many kinds of tropical fish, reef sharks, barracuda, squid, and much more. We did have to learn the time schedule of the noseums (tiny mosquito-like bugs) so that we wouldn’t get swarmed, but we adapted by being indoors during dusk. St. John is an incredible place, and this home at Kiddel Bay Perch is a gem.
