This gorgeous stone cottage sits in beautiful, green countryside. We were here to visit family nearby during new year and it was delightfully toasty and warm. The hosts provided all the info we could need on local attractions and we had some great day trips to Mont St Michel and Granville. Also, there was a delicious welcome basket of bead, cheese and wine - yum! The bed we stayed in was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in😃. The perfect French rural stay during off season.

We had a fantastic relaxing holiday, the property was lovely and cool and the pool was excellent as we had a particularly hot week, Natalie and Dan were fantastic hosts, not intrusive at all but there whenever you needed them, the property was very clean and had everything you needed, especially the BBQ, we had a BBQ ban because of the drought, but they bought us a gas BBQ as we said how much we loved to BBQ (used it every day, daren't do any other lol) we loved it that much we have booked again for next year

We stayed at La Garenterie for a week in August. The gite is set in peaceful farmland and renovated to a very high standard. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedrooms and lounge spacious and comfy, and the whole place is very clean. It is exactly the kind of place we like to stay, full of stylish art, furniture and finishing touches. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind in the Normandy countryside. The hosts Nat and Dan were great. Friendly and there if you needed anything, but also respecting of your space. The pool is fantastic to keep the children occupied and great to cool off in after a days exploring. The outdoor seating area under the pergola at the end of the gite is a lovely spot to sit for an evening drink and meal as the sun is setting. The area has lots to explore. We really enjoyed our visit to Mont De Cerisy Belle Etoile which is close by. The great beaches at Carolles and Jullouville on the Normandy coast are within reach and it is also a good place to explore local markets and brocantes. Ask Nat for the best spots! We are already planning a trip back next year…

We visited La Garenterie with two families with three children between us. The house felt very spatious, was spotlessly clean and was beautifully presented. The hosts had thought of every detail that would make our stay easy and comfortable with children from a high chair to masses of toys and books. The gite was in lovely surroundings and felt private and peaceful. Highly recommended, thank you.

We have just returned home after two weeks in France travelling in our Vintage Alvis. We were fortunate enough to end our holiday spending the last three nights at La Garenterie with our son, daughter in law and grandaughter. This gite is immaculately clean, is situated in a very peaceful location and has been renovated by Natalie and Dan to a very high standard. The family kitchen is perfect for meals and for playing games together in the evenings - it has everything you would ever need to cook from a simple meal to a banquet! The large lounge is so comfortable with space for everyone to relax. The terrace for eating outside is pleasantly situated for the evening sunshine and there is a good BBQ. All of the bedrooms are spacious. Our bedroom was at the front of the house. It was quiet and peaceful, with a very comfortable bed - thanks for the tip about the "deep fit" sheets Natalie! Natalie and Dan's children are delightful and so helpful carrying luggage to and from the car. It was good to see them having fun in the pool with our grandaughter, plunging in even though the water was cool!! We were sorry only to be staying for three nights and very envious on our son and family who are still there. However if we are ever in Normandy again we wouldn't hesitate to get in touch to stay at La Garenterie for a second visit. It was just perfect and thanks for your interest in our Vintage Alvis.

Really comfortable gite, very clean and had everything we needed including for under 5s. Beautifully done out with nice touches everywhere. Surrounding countryside also beautiful, picturesque and lovely sitting outside to relax. Even saw owls. Lots to do in the area within half hour drive. Hosts Natalie and Dan and the kids were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Great holiday, couldn’t have been better.

This well equipped farmhouse is very clean and comfortable, bright and airy, with charming traditional french features and modern appliances. The wood burning stove makes the spacious living room very cosy on a chilly autumn evening. Natalie and Dan are very welcoming and helpful, without being intrusive and can give advice about places to visit and the nearest shops for fresh bread and pastries. The local area is peaceful countryside, but the coast is also within easy reach, making day trips possible to the Mont Saint Michel and nearby beaches. We were especially thrilled with the sightings of salamanders and owls nearby and will definitely be back next year.

Stayed here for 6 nights the 3rd week of September, i can honestly say it’s one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in, the hosts Natalie and Dan were lovely and very helpful not intrusive in anyway just there if we needed them. You can have this as a quiet and relaxing stay or you can go out and explore, everything is about an hr or so away. Be prepared for a Sunday nothing is open, we did manage to find a restaurant open on the Sunday evening called Buffalo grill which was next to a Macdonalds in a town called Fleurs. A fantastic place to stay, we will definitely be going back at some point. I give it 5 stars.👍

We really enjoyed our stay, and the property is wonderful, spacious and very quiet. Weather was fantastic, and we ate outside every day. Well located to explore the area, and found plenty of things to do from markets to bungee jumps! Or hosts, Natalie & Dan were very friendly and interesting, and there on hand when we needed them. The location and history of the property is fascinating, and I hope that they manage to restore the manor house one day to its former glory! We will certainly be booking again. A very relaxing stay in a beautifully furnished, well equipped gite. The owners were superb, exceptionally helpful but also very respectful of our privacy. Plenty to do within an hour's drive away.
