I traveled with my 3 children, my mother and my aunt. All of us liked the house because is very cozy and has everything you need to stay. The house is closed to the downtown. No matter the porpuse of the trip, the house will met your expectations.

Pros: Accommodates a number of people - 7 of us stayed there earlier this year. Convenient location - within walking distance to town. Helpful lessor - Mr. Santacruz offered to help us get some groceries and other items before our arrival and responded quickly to our requests during our stay. Cons: The property is dated and in need of improvements - furniture is worn, 1 burner on the stove worked when we arrived, needs painting and a thorough cleaning. The house had a musty smell and strong plumbing odor in one bathroom.

A principios de mayo, en compañía de 9 familiares, nos hospedamos por 2 noches en esta casa. La experiencia fue mala. Los dueños de la casa, son amables, pero el mantenimiento de la casa deja mucho que desear. Esta descuidada, huele a moho y lo que es muy malo, es que esta llena de cucarachas, principalmente en la cocina. Donde se encuentran estos bichos, son indicativo de falta de higiene.. El último día no hubo agua caliente, y aunque se le llamo a la dueña de la casa varias veces, ella atendió nuestras llamadas hasta 5 horas después. Los dueños tienen otra casa a la vecindad, y un familiar, iba a hospedarse ese mismo fin de semana, pero por motivos de fuerza mayor, no pudo quedarse alojado. Se dio un adelanto por esa casa, y dado a nuestra experiencia en la otra vivienda, se les pidió a los señores la devolución del dinero. El Sr se negó a devolver el adelanto proporcionado, y se limitó a decir que lo que el podía hacer era darnos otros 2 noches sin costos adicionales, pero nosotros no queremos regresar. A mi criterio, el dueño debió de haber devuelto el adelanto dado y hacernos un descuento especial, por las múltiples molestias generadas durante nuestra estancia.

This is a great place to spend a few days in antigua. Carlos was fantastic! Incredibly helpful with any and all requests. There is good space and it suits a large group or also a small group. The main areas are easily accessible. Great value for what you get! Thanks Carlos

We had a great stay in antigua! Thanks to Carlos we were well taken care of. He was always available for questions and suggestion on things to do. He even arranged our transportation for us. We are so glad we found this place. It is located right in town and easy to walk anywhere in antigua. We highly recommend this place.

Really you could not ask for more. We had a little trouble getting to antigua (specifically the house), where the shuttle driver dropped us off at a different location. I was able to get a hold of Carlos and he immediately came to get us himself and made sure we got to his place ok. (even 'took care' of the shuttle company) He was the best renter we could have asked for and was always willing to help with all of our extenuating circumstances: i.e. 5 adults, 2 kids 2 years and under, different travel dates and flights. On top of that the place was amazing, comfortable, beautiful, and a 5 minute walk from everything. Cheers Carlos, and I hope we get to stay with yall again!

This house is on a quiet easy to find street in antigua. Safely enclosed behind a fence with parking inside for a small car. In front is a cute little courtyard.The back of the house butts up to a coffee plantation. There is a shaded patio with a fireplace and comfortable furniture. Great place to read and listen to the birds. This house has everything you could ask for!Good sized kitchen containing anything you might need to prepare snack or meal. A water cooler with fresh purified water. Off the kitchen is a washer and dryer. The dining table easily seats 8 and there is also a small bar with 3 stools.The living room is comfortable and has a TV, CD player and a telephone for calls within Guatemala. Fast Wifi! Both big pluses! Downstairs there are 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms! Also a small sitting room.(there are 2 short sets of stairs in this house) We found the beds comfortable and enjoyed warm showers. Walk to the corner to hail a tuktuk.A 10 minute walk to the town square. We loved our stay at this house while we explored antigua and surrounding areas. Carlos and Nancy own this house.I feel we have made friends for life!Carlos is willing to correspond telephone or e-mail. When we flew into Guatemala City we were unsure about getting our rental car, exchanging $$ to Q's and just how to get out of GC! (It is a huge busy city with few street signs)Carlos and Nancy helped us each step of the way, even though we arrived GC a week before our stay in antigua they met us at the airport, kept the rental agency from ripping us off and aided us in exchanging $$ to Q's! Then they made sure we got out of the city and on the correct route to Coban! When we had battery troubles in the Rio Dulce area Carlos contacted the rental agency and paved the way for us to be on our way again. We felt choosing their property was a God send. We will be forever grateful for the kind friendship Carlos and Nancy showed these "ol gringos" You can't go wrong with this house and it's great owners!

We stayed in Casa Orchidea for three months. (Nov-january) This is a beautiful house with light colors. It has four bedrooms and two living rooms which fitted us perfect, since the boys had their own "playroom" downstairs. We were 8 during christmas and there were plenty of space for everybody. The location is perfect with only 10 minutes walk to the park in the heart of antigua. But what really made it perfect was Carlos and Nancy who are the perfect hosts. When we ended up on the wrong busstation in Guatemala Carlos even met us early in the morning to make sure we were OK. Thanks a lot. We had a wonderful time in antigua!

We spent our summer vacation at the Orchid House for three glorious weeks in 2013. The homeowners were very gracious, hospitable, quick, and unexpectedly generous. We travel all over the world and can't remember a more pleasant stay. The house is large, the price was perfect, the services all worked and the owners responded immediately to our requests. I and my family give it a two-thumbs up.

Renting this home made our vacation to antigua, Guatemala a true delight. The owners were very attentive and kind. The house had all the accommodations we needed and the location was very central - we walked everywhere and always felt safe. I would highly recommend this property and its owners.
