Relaxing

We had 6 in our party spanning 3 generations. Everyone had a great time. Cabin was nice and roomy and right on the water with your own dock. Kitchen has all the items you need, but bring your own shampoo and body soap. Fishing guide lives 2 doors down. Kayaks and canoe are available. Have fun - we did!

Nice accommodations and excellent communication from owner

The home is basic, but clean and comfortable! Everything was as expected. We opted to use the kayaks and canoe and enjoyed having the water access. We used the deck for morning coffee, grilled our dinner and roasted marshmallows in fire pit area. We dabbled in dock fishing, but can see how this house would be great for group (ice) fishing, hunting, and probably snowmobiling excursions. Lots of places to sleep. Connection to Wi-Fi was appreciated and consistent. The area is beautiful-Lake Vermillion is vast! We also rented a ski boat on an unseasonably hot June day and explored the miles of the lake with very little traffic. Take bug spray and Enjoy!

Nice place to stay. We used it for a fishing cabin so basically only used it to make breakfast and dinner then sleeping. It was clean and had everything we needed. Good host who was very responsive and willing to help in anyway.

We went up with four adults to ride snowmobile. The location was perfect because it was close and easy to get to the trail and had a wonderful gas station very close also. The house was very clean and had enough room to hang out together or go and find your own space. Two bathrooms and two showers were wonderful and the sauna was a welcome warm up every night when we returned. The owner was very quick to response to our every need. Parking for a big trailer was a little tight but if you know how to handle your rig you'll be fine. I would totally stay here again and hope to bring all my grandkids as the basement had 5-6 beds and they would have there own space and think they were on top of the world! Great experience overall. My wife and I wanted to spend some time in the Ely area, as I had always wanted to return after spending two weeks there 49 years ago. Found the area and the people to be just as gracious and welcoming as when I had been there as a young man. Weather was overall pretty good, and we had a great time hiking trails, and spent one morning canoeing about Lake Vermillion. Neighbors were pretty quiet for the most part, and we really enjoyed the cabin. Thanks again to Bart for working with us on short notice.

Nice property to stay at. Lots of room, and everything was clean and well kept. Be aware that the property is not directly on Lake Vermilion, (it is on a river leading to Lake Vermilion) but we knew that in advance and was not a big issue for us. Nice property if you have dogs, since they can run out the back door directly down to the dock area. Owner Bart was good to work with.
