I'm responding here because I differ slightly on this review. Let me start off by stating this townhouse/brownstone doesn't have a basement. If you look at the website Townhouse Experts/Vandenberg they have architectural drawings of townhouses, the floor below the parlor floor is labeled as garden floor. Some call it the garden floor I call it the ground floor. The floor above is 10 feet above street level on this house. For people that don't live in the cities I would describe the 2 lower floor set up as similar to a high ranch or a split level. If you look at the pictures of the bedroom the two doors that have blinds lead to the garden, at garden level no stairs. The pictures of the living room have two windows at a normal height level, basements usually have windows high up close to the ceiling in Manhattan basements don't have windows. The ground floor walls are wood and sheet rock it's just a matter of taste, if you open the blinds in the front and back it brightens the apartment there's also plenty of lighting in the apartment. The picture's for the apartment is what your getting, I've been told the apartment is much bigger than the pictures depict most guest are surprised with the size.
